Are we sure Dye isn't just being an Auburn guy hating Bama?

how could this be an auburn guy hating bama?
unless condie actually is bias

I don't think it's necessary that the committee members be former college football players, and I would also be open to the idea of women on the committee, but I would require that each member had spent at least a significant part his/her live immersed in football in some capacity. If the committee had chosen Sarah Thomas, I doubt there would be as much backlash as their is with Rice.

I don't understand why the bcs couldn't just pick the top 4 teams.

I agree. The BCS rankings are a lot more transparent than any possible selection committee.

Pat Dye knows what is up actually.

I don't think the committee members will be expected to create their own algorithm, rather they will be expected select teams based on the eyeball test, which is why football knowledge matters.

lol. you think the people choosing the 4 teams will use some,if any, type of math formula?

That is to say, I believe that the committee will discuss some computer rankings and have them readily available, but unfortunately I don't think any of them will be doing any math themselves. And that's obviously a problem. It's either math or bias. One is good, and the other has been the problem for decades.

Rice is the perfect storm for Dye's disgust: a black, female Bama fan. Only thing that would be worse is if she was gay too.
Oh, wait.
Oh, wait.

I agree with him. I would prefer people who actually watch and know college football. I dont care that she's black or female.

If it is going to be a nationl committee, it must look like the USA. Now we have to figure out which network to host the show in prime time with rockets going off between each selection.

And you know that she doesn't have this information? I'll be honest, I have no clue what her knowledge or interest level is. But far to often people act like football requires this higher level understanding.
It just isn't that complicated.

Agree. He sounds like a senile drunk old redneck.
If you didn't know his name was Pat Dye, he would sound like just another Finebaum caller.
