I just don't see anyone in the music business able to make the kind of cash needed given how the music business has changed. Artists don't sell as many records as they used to due the digital music revolution and how artists don't need record companies like they used to with digital music.

P. Diddy can't even count on royalties since he samples so much. He doesn't even own 100 percent of his biggest hits.

Maybe if P Diddy gets lucky with investments out of the music industry.

He didn't make his money off his CDs.

That is not enough to buy majority interest in an NFL team. Let's say he is worth 580 million which I doubt, but let's say he is. That includes everything he owns. So if he sold everything he owns he would theoretically have 580 million, but he has to pay taxes so at least 100 million goes for taxes and he won't get 580 million for everything he owns. He won't be able to full retail on all the stuff he owns and then he still has to pay taxes.

Yeah he has his clothing line. LOL. He has some bucks but he does not have the cash to buy majority interest in an NFL team.

To own an NFL team you have to has cash on-hand, assets, and people willing to extend you credit and loan you money. His line of work doesn't lend itself to getting the credit he would need nor does he has the cash on-hand nor the ability to liquidity his assets into the cash needed.

Check out the type of business recent NFL owners the last 20 years have come from. It ain't fashion and music.

There are so many things wrong with this post that im not going to attempt to correct. I will say this.

Most investment groups get financing for a large portion of the cost of a franchise. The same as any large purchase.

Who in the hell is going to finance P Diddy? He is most likely not worth 580 million and doesn't have the assets.

Is he going to sell thousands of pairs of jeans at a discount to cover his losses? is he going to make a record that sells 10 million copies and own all the royalties when the team needs money?

If wants to be majority owner he has have to have the money. The days of putting together an investment where you own like 10 percent of the team and call the shots is over in the NFL.

You need to be worth close to a billion now and have the type assets that people will risk financing on. The NFL is not going to allow some hip-hop consortium to own a NFL team. The NFL wants someone with a majority interest worth about a billion with hard assets like real estate and a lot of cash on-hand.

yeah right. you know how much and NFL team is worth? revenue sharing

Mark Cuban has more money than Diddy and tried 2 times to buy a team (Cubs, Rangers) and did not get the bid. MLB owners and Selig undoubtedly did not want someone like Cuban in charge of a franchise.

Doubt they would feel any different about Puffy

About time there was a poor owner. I volunteer to give NO funds whatsoever and take a minority ownership stake.

Most of his money comes from Ciroc I would assume.

I doubt this happens and he is most likely talking out the side of his neck
But I must say how I would enjoy watching this go down if it did happen.

This is the final barrier. Blacks will finally be equal with whites if this happens. We've come a long way since chattel slavery, y'all.
