Because of Political correctness

What if Ray confessed everything straight up and was remorseful and begged for mercy? (sounds like he did)

And the wife and team showed forgiveness based on his response and repentance?

Is that wrong? I think that's a good thing,right?

But because the entire nation saw this video after all the crying and confessions we know need to punish him again because "We the fans" just saw how bad it was?

It really is sickening how this is being played out.

For once I agree with you 100%

I do not think anyone is defending his actions, but it is pretty clear that he is being railroaded.

yes, the father seemed to be ok with it, he forgave Ray
I just dont get it. But that clearly shows why domestic violence is so prominent because men like Janays father and Rice will continue to allow it and it just trickles down to the children

He pretty much got in no legal trouble whatsoever. If he wasnt famous he would have been in a far greater shite show

Does Rice have a history of this? Is it legitimately a one time deal?

Its one thing to have a history of this, its another thing to have a horrible reaction. Its a learnable moment for Rice if he will let it be.

Now, if some man hit my daughter like that, I don't think I would be very forgiving to be fair.

I don't know about that.

Don't let the tough internet talk fool you. Plenty of men with domestic abuse charges that never amounted to anything.

Plenty of men with domestic abuse charges and convictions who never saw the inside of a jail or missed a day of work.

People turn a blind eye to this shite everyday.

If Rice would have knelt down and showed a freak out "what have i done what have i done moment", then I could understand. It wouldnt be forgivable, but it would show he let the heat of the moment allow him to make an impulsive action. But when you watch him just kick and shovel her out the elevator like a rug it shows he has the attitude that it isnt that big of a deal.

He wasnt even charged with assault, when there is video of the assault. That isnt normal

The NFL and ESPN celebrate a murder in Ray Lewis, but you better not slap a women.

im really just guessing here, but with the ease of how he hit her, im betting he has done that before.

Just to further my point, I think this is the most telling part of the video. The punch is terrible, but it could have boiled down to making a terrible impulsive decision in split rage. The reaction he has once he knocked her out is the most telling thing

Well, I didn't know all of this. I've never watched the video and I have no interest to.

I don't know man, I think he should be punished, but I don't think it should be a dark cloud over his head for the rest of his life.

I think if any man lives long enough, there will be moments in his life he will regret forever. Now, imagine how bad it would be if those moments played out so publicly as this.

Like I said I would somewhat agree with you if he reacted like that after he knocked her out. But he literally treated her like a piece of trash in the street after he knocked her out. That is the sign of a psycho to me

Once again I do not condone what Rice did. I think it is deplorable.

On a separate note, I believe that the NFL screwed up from the very beginning and now they are screwing him over to try and save face.

I don't disagree with you.

I really don't. My only objection to all of this, is the NFL clearly making him the sacrificial lamb.

Maybe...

But he is not the first. Lot of those are practicing as we speak.

I think that's why Newsome felt he had to speak out.

I agree with you that punch is terrible. There is no excuse for Rice doing what he did. If it were known that Rice was sober when this occurred then I could understand this sentiment but we know he wasn't. Both Ray & Janay admitted to being drunk. Alcohol has a tendency to cause people to do things outside of their character which is why the punch may have thrown from the get go as well as his reaction afterward.

Has Rice been banned from the league??? No, so no one knows if his career is over or not
