They are finally playing a physical type of football that can win in the playoffs.

I’m not saying they get a Natty, but they are playing the type of football now that could win them one.

Also the dude can recruit.

He'd be perfect at Michigan. Unfortunately for them, Oregon has deep pockets and he doesn't have to go through Ohio State there to win the league. He also has a very slim chance to make the playoff out of the Pac 12 every year, so there's that.

I've always thought a ton of Cristobal. I still don't understand why and how he was fired at FIU all those years ago.

It may have made him a better coach though. He learned the SEC/Saban recruiting ways at Alabama.

He should be on the top of any blue blood type program's list. He would be a definite thorn in the side of Ohio State, but unless Michigan is "all in" for football like Oregon is, I doubt they hirf him. He'd also be great at Texas or especially Miami.

Hes my guess for Saban's replacement in a few years.

That was the second thing I thought while watching the game. This is not your typical Oregon.

But then they proceeded to make bone-headed mistakes.

If they can clean those up, yes, this Oregon team can tackle really well and is physical and their O-line looks top notch.

Oregon like USC is moving the ball between the 20's pretty easily...if they both can solve their redzone stupidity they should meet in the Pac12 Championship game if it ever happens.

And when an Oregon player got ejected for targeting, it made me realize Oregon is really looking to lay the wood.

There is an attitude with this Oregon team unlike the flash but soft teams in the past.

I'm not sold yet. They've been sloppy, and Stanford and Wazzu don't look like noteworthy scalps this year.

I like Cristobal, and they do look tough so far, but I feel like a WTF moment is always looming.

As an Oregon fan, I’m really happy so far this season, after the opt-outs and significant amount of injuries we’ve had this season (20 players were out for this game).

Herbert and before him, Mariota were great at protecting the football and avoiding interceptions. Shough has been far more willing to make dangerous throws this season and the turnovers are evident of that. If he can be reigned in he can be another very good Oregon quarterback. And Moorhead’s offense has looked borderline unstoppable at points this season.

We are replacing 15/22 starters including the entire offensive line. I’m okay with being merely good. So far we don’t look to be on that playoff level, within the context of this year, I’m okay with that.

Thibodeaux is deserving of his recruiting ranking. He is an absolute hoss and will be a 1st rounder.

Noah Sewell also looks like a star in the making. Surprisingly I haven’t seen much of anything from Justin Flowe, or really even him on the field.

Their defense is going to be really good next year as well.

Cristobal is building a powerhouse. Something the Pac-12 doesn’t have right now. If he stays, and I hope he does, they can become the Clemson of the west coast and have an inside track to the playoff for years to come with how they are recruiting.

Appreciate the breakdown. Maybe I'm holding onto memories of meltdowns against Arizona a couple of years ago, or ASU last year. Even the Rose Bowl wasn't a great performance, but Wisconsin made enough mistakes and Herbert made enough plays with his legs to win. Point is, the Ducks have games when they clearly look like the better team, but they somehow aren't.

I'm not down on Oregon or Cristobal. I'm just saying I can't totally buy into the OP's argument at this point. The number of starters being replaced reinforces that IMO.

He was great at FIU and frankly got a raw deal. Very solid coach and not surprised he's well at Oregon.

If mullen were to leave UF...I'd call him ASAP

Maybe a dumb question, but where would Mullen leave for?

Doubtful he'd leave but maybe if we were to ever get intrigued with the NFL.

Taggart bolting for FSU was the best thing that ever happened to them.
