The Big Ten is going to cost him a few draft spots and a lot of money.

Not really.

It’s bad for him because he won’t get a shot at a national championship and a heisman trophy.

But he is a solid upper 1st rounder and there won’t be enough teams playing to allow other players to jump him.

He will just be drafted by a better team than Burrow was.

Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith said he and president-elect Kristina Johnson both advocated to delay to the start of a fall season rather than postpone to the spring.

“President-elect Johnson and I were totally aligned in our efforts to delay the start of the season rather than postpone,” Smith said in a statement. “I am so grateful to her for all her efforts in support of our student-athletes and a traditional fall season.

I think even if he doesn't play, the potential risk is worth it to some team in the late 1st.

He’ll go top 15

And he chose MoveOn.org for his petition. That is a progressive left wing site... the same people keeping him from playing.

Lol. Eat shite Justin.

Big 10 looks horrible to us but if you read Reddit, they think Big 10 and Pac 12 are the only smart ones. Hard to tell which one is more like real life

When I read the mgoblog forums, 80% of the comments seem in favor of the cancellation. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a goober whose failure to wear a mask prevented the season from being played.

Yeah sometimes less tape is better tape and more tape is just more dissection.

Leinart dropped for coming back his senior year. The more tape you give the NFL the more they start to dislike you.

They played Ohio State last year in Ohio

And which science degree did you major in?

My favorite thing about 2020 is how all the hippy burnouts transferred their scientific expertise into epidemiology. Hey, whatever happened to all the whales and dolphins or whatever the frick yall were trying to save back in March? Guess the good thing about you assholes shutting down all the bars is that we don't have to worry about straw in turtles' noses anymore.

This seems like PR damage control. Who in that conference has a big enough dick to slap Ohio State down if all they wanted to do was delay it like the SEC? I can’t imagine that they stood up and made an impassioned argument, but were either shouted down or ignored. From afar, I can’t see anyone who has that kind of juice.

Let me get this out of the way—no matter how pissed they may be (if you believe what I re-quoted above), they are not leaving the Big 10. Ever.

And while I do think there may be some unquantifiable long-term negative effects, I’m not sure how much this hurts Ohio State in the short-term. They’ve got a machine rolling along really strongly right now. Their ridiculous recruiting class seems to have avoided a mass exodus. And why would it? They’ll be back playing next fall when the ‘21 class can 1st play. If they survived a post-season ban and kept humming right along, I’m not sure why this would hurt their ‘21 recruiting class enough to make much of a difference.

Obviously, the Big 10 schools will lose a lot of money by not playing. But I think OSU, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, etc...will be fine eventually. What I think may have an effect, though, is all the advertising the SEC/ACC/BIG 12 will be getting all season. All those schools will be featured much more this year on tv, radio, social media—it will incredibly powerful in underscoring their brands. There could be some long-term effects for that, but we’ll see.,

Over 215,000 and counting.

This isn't going away, whether the B1G officials or Presidents like it or not. In fact, its going the other way. They clearly made the wrong decision and now people want answers that the B1G wasn't ready to give. Complete debacle. The new Commissioner is in way over his head. Pretty sad when Justin Fields is showing more leadership than the Commissioner of the B1G Conference, The Ohio State University President and Athletic Director combined.

I like the idea, but it’s a little late for this kind of talk.

Big Ten coaches and players should have been more vocal before the season was cancelled. The writing was on the wall.
