At least Nebraska is fighting to play.

So much for being an alpha dog program with how OSU admins are acting.

that's what the SEC is doing

Not quite

SEC set 9/26 as the first game

tOSU wanted to delay voting on the season/what to do until end of september

So realistically, you are looking at a November start there, which makes the least amount of sense

Was it delaying to the spring (basically cancelling) or delaying the start to late September like the SEC and ACC are doing?

Good question. What I see being reported is that everyone but Nebraska and Iowa voted to delay to the Spring (which as you say is essentially cancelling). Maybe that's not correct, though.

Ohio State has stated several times they wanted to delay and not postpone. Postponing is what happened.
I think the confusion is from the initial story of a leaked straw vote where it was claimed only Iowa and Nebraska wanted to play.

Yeah. That was the story that everybody heard. There must have been a final vote to effectively cancel the season (officially delaying to Spring). If Ohio State just wanted a short delay (which is what the SEC is doing), they should have voted against the majority in the conference. Do you think that what really happened is that Ohio State voted with the majority but now regrets that decision?

Bull shite. They have a president that voted no to fall sports. They are done.

Fake news.

The new president wants to find a way to make it work, and didn't vote to kill 2020.

And the current AD is on very thin ice. I doubt he lasts long. I think the new prez will bring in a new AD very soon.

And I've heard the Iowa Nebraska report, but newer reports say OSU voted against the league proposal - and the vote was much closer than 10-2.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State does not expect a Big Ten vote Monday night on canceling football for 2020, but if one happened, incoming President Kristina M. Johnson would vote against cancellation, a university source told cleveland.com.

Almost all the local sports sites are reporting that prez Johnson did NOT vote to cancel Fall football (the opposite of what national sites reported)

And it is senseless in their case as well.

Cases and hospitalizations are all trending way down. A couple weeks is a good decision

Not it really isn’t. It’s “doing something” but it’s just as stupid as all of the other minor delays that have occurred across society for the past six months. The minute things open more fully again, cases will go up...again.

Any given 2 week or month period will not change anything at all.
