Yeah, I'm not talking betting the ML on a 32 point dog as opposed to the spread for a college game. It's not an absolute that spread is the better bet than the ML; there can be inconsistencies where ML provides more value or vice versa. It's not an exact science that a 7.5 point favorite will always be -XYZ on the ML.

Oh. No doubt. Didn't mean to contradict. Just figured if that new guy was following along it'd be helpful information for him.

Always enjoy your insight.

Not a ton of use in novice bettors worrying about things like that though. It would only result in minute differences over time; given how little I and most people on here are betting $-wise, we will never have to be overly concerned about it.

I usually throw 1/3 or so of my bet size on reasonably sized underdogs where I'm betting the spread, especially in the NFL.

Thanks for all the information. I was really just talking about betting the underdog ML if the spread was +1 to +3 or +4, not anything larger than that.

I'm still deciding on tonight but I think I am going to go with the following:

Washington St. +15.5 @ -110
New Mexico ML @ +148
Fresno St. -9.5 @ -110

Wish I hit NM +6 at open. I still like it at +3.5 but I don't know if I will play it towards my TD record, which have been my 0.5U or higher plays.

I have a good number of double-digit, hold-your-nose dogs this week, starting with UNLV +10 tonight.

Weren't you the poster who used to bet NBA quarters pretty extensively?

Adding: 0.8U NEW MEXICO +3.5 -110

I think it gets to 3 at all books.

YTD pregame: 14-8 +4.39U
YTD in-game: 1-0 +0.6U

1U LSU -2 -110
1U USC -2.5 -110
0.8U NEW MEXICO +3.5 -110

And how is that?

Because if Stanford covers for it to not go over Wazzou could score a max 17 points. Wazzou could cover 28-24, 31-21.... A myriad of different ways without it going over. It's the same reason you can't parlay large favorites with the over in that same game at most places.

Not really understanding the Wazzu love. Stanford has a strong team this year that is undervalued IMO. I'll be laying the points tonight.

Fail to see how Stanford has a strong team this year..? They've done literally nothing to prove so unless I'm missing something..?

Good but not great team. Mundane offense. One playmaker. Solid D, but certainly not worth the 17 and the market has proven as much
