Large public money is on FSU, public is stupid and will keep betting them even if the book adds a point so why not cross a key number if you can keep getting bets on that side. Sharps will hit it at 14.5 and it will move back down, but the amount of public money far exceeds the sharp money.

If you're ever up at 1am there's an awesome hour long radio show on the local Vegas ESPN affiliate, you can probably catch it online.

From my understanding, big money means sharp money. I could be wrong though

WVU line down to -27.5
Ohio is (-26) if you're still fading UMass
Notre Dame (-5.5)
Oklahoma holding steady at (-14)

Anyone think West Virginia can win by 4 TD's @ home against Maryland?

Big money can either be from the public or the sharps. The amount of money is greater though from the public when you include things like parlays and teasers. But when a large percentage of their high dollar wagerers are on a certain side they'll consider that big sharp money.

Consider this, when you hear about a game where all the sharp money is going to a certain team, there's still 30% of those "sharp bettors" on the other side.

What's the amount ya'll think one needs to bet to be considered a "sharp"

1k, 10k, 50k, or more than that?

I guess it depends on who's taking the money. I'd imagine it has a lot to do with the rapport they have with the betting syndicates and bettors who are constantly cashing in large winners.

If I walked up with 50 grand every week and lost on one bet, I wouldn't be considered a sharp just bc the amount I'm betting is high.

Here's how it works out here. Most players sign up for a player's card so they can earn comps based on play. They're great to use in the casino, terrible in the sportsbook. Most places you have to bet 500 to earn $1 in comps, and when you use your card they can track your play. If a place notices you winning a lot they can also force you to sign up to track your play.

Sharps are known to all the casinos because they've been around forever and their play is all tracked. I tend to follow the guys who bet the most because I figure they got all that money somehow. Like this one guy that flies in on Friday, flies out on Sunday, plays a minimum of 10 grand a game. I tend to tail him.

Does anyone know if 5dimes does any sort of comps? Surely, I have earned a Ferrari or something.

Yeah ask em for a free buffet.

But seriously, when i last used them a couple years ago you earned points that you can redeem towards free bets and other stuff.

Interesting. I know I see advertisements for other betting sites that offer stuff, but I haven't seen where 5dimes does it.

that aside, what are some plays you are looking at this week?

Todd Furhman used to say their line movers played $20K-$50K a game but hit multiple casinos, etc.

I like clemson at +14.5, other than that nothing really jumped out at me. I'll probably play Michigan too. 1st half lines have been lining my pockets recently so I'll look at some of those too.
