LMAO at the Michael Thompson hate on here. The guy is deeply religious, humble, and handles himself incredibly well and finished 2nd despite all those laughing at him and pulling against him in this thread.
Michael Thompson > John Peterson and David Toms
P.S. John Peterson should be around $350,000 on the money list and needs almost twice that amount to finish in the top 125 to get full status. He'll get a handful of sponsor's exemptions like Bud Cauley (another Bama golfer) did last year to try and earn his tour card. We'll see if he can step up and get it done like Cauley did last year.

He would have been well over what he needed if he made just one of those two or three knee knockers he missed

Very true but a lot of players missed opportunities. Thompson missed a short birdie putt on #17 that would have gotten him into a playoff. Peterson, like Bud Cauley last year, has got serious game though and has a good shot of doing what Cauley did last year.

You have to factor in he's already gotten two, so he has 5 plus any that he Monday's into to earn the 125 amount from last year to receive unlimited sponsors.

Last year's top 125 was right at $669,000 so if he can get to that figure he'll be fully exempt for the rest of this year. It looks like the 125 cutoff will be somewhere around $700,000 by the end of the season.

I actually think if he gets to 150 from last year, he has special temp membership, but that will only get him in fields that go crazy deep, like Jackson

Unfortunately, I think they changed that rule from last year's Top 150 to last year's Top 125 to be exempt for the remainder of the year. Dicky Pride played well early this year and was close to last year's Top 150 but apparently needed to get into last year's Top 125 which he finally did by finishing 2nd a few weeks ago.

Lmao. That is some funny shite right there. No way in hell, keep dreaming, you are delusional.
Toms has more skins on the wall than Thompson has wall.

That was for the U.S. Open not overall. Obviously, Toms is better. I was just giving Thompson props to counter balance all the ridiculous hate he was receiving in this thread. The guy is as straight laced as any on the tour and people here were acting like he was a scumbag only because he happened to play golf at Alabama.

I'm glad you clarified your stance, cause Thompson > Toms was crazy.

I really liked Thompon's game. No doubt that he will win a tournament sometime in the next few years.

Understand man. It's all good. I have no problem with Thompson. Think he has a bright future. Best of luck to him.

I've likewise always liked Toms. I admire medium length hitters like him that can still get it done on long difficult courses.
P.S. Just checked the latest World Golf Rankings and

Michael Thompson moved from 107th to 52nd in the world. David Toms went from 43rd to 34th in the world.

John Peterson is in the field this week at the Traveler's Championship btw.
Edit: Just noticed that Boo Weekley is listed as an alternate for some reason. He's been fully exempt all year so I don't know what's up with that. It isn't like this particular tournament is hard for non elite tour players to get into.
