As an aside to this, it looks like Ernie will narrowly miss out qualifying for next year's Masters through this tourney. Top 8 get in, and he's tied for 9th right now. Of course, if he keeps playing like this, he'll be in the top 50 in the world and won't need to qualify, but it's interesting given his near misses this year thus far.

Furyk played very steady today until the tee shot on 16 and that 2nd on 17.

The rule is that the group is put on the clock, then the players are timed individually. Only the players who get slow times once placed on the clock get penalties. And there's not a chance in hell that anyone in the last group in the US Open is getting a slow play penalty.
