Throughout all this, it is an extremely sad day for all those long time Penn State fans and alums. They've had so much pride in their program and have had the same coach for half a century. I feel bad for those people.

Now everyone involved in this fricking scandal can all go to hell. Caring more about a fricking program than the livelihood of innocent young children that one man took advantage of. I read the grand jury presentment and I had to stop halfway through. It's just fricking sick.

Not an NCAA issue, IMO. But the football team will be negatively effected just as if they were severely penalized. Recruiting and PR will take a huge hit.

The crying thing was a little embelishment if you ask me. Why would you cry. I would be pissed off, and he did get a little pissed by not coming out, oops, maybe the wrong words there, by not standing up and bringing this to the forefront.

Should they take away wins from Joe Pa and make Bowden the all time leader in FBS wins?

So helping a kid out albeit against the rules is a violation, but engaging in a massive coverup to hide a coach using his position to have sex with kids isnt.....

Joe Pa is a shithead because he didn't follow up.
Does anyone really believe that he didn't follow up with a guy that was his right hand man forever?

We will never know the real truth but I imagine the Powers That Be told Joe they needed to bury it and he went along with it.

Is there proof of this? Nope, but which is more realistic? That they buried it or that Paterno never followed up on the alleged rape of a young child.

Clearly they thought he did something wrong or he wouldn't have been banned from bringing kids to the facility, thus they should have reported it to the police. If they believed he had done nothing wrong, why the ban?

This is what bothers me. This isn't about the football season, it's about these assholes getting prosecuted and ousted. At this point I dont care about the rest of the season. As an alum I'm furious that the schools reputation is being tarnished, but more importantly I'm thinking of the victims and their families.

No. It is morally and criminally corrupt, but it isn't an NCAA rules violation because it isn't in their purview. Nor should it be. They can't handle what is in their jurisdiction and they have no business expanding it because some creeps did some awful things at a University.

This is a law enforcement, state and school issue.

I don't think so. I've seen people here crying because they are so distraught over this and they didn't play for Penn State.

Millen was one of the guys that would've taken a bullet for Sandusky or Joe so it doesn't shock me in the least. I know fellow alumni who are just absolutely in total shock. We just don't know what to do.

This is obviously much much worse but it doesn't break any NCAA rule. The same way a player can get in trouble with the NCAA for taking $500 from a booster but if he robs a liqour store the NCAA can't punish him or the school.

Apparently he wasn't a coach (retired) when the most egregious incidents occurred. I'll say to this point. It is likely that other victims will come forward and the sh*thead was probably doing very bad things while he was an active coach and using PSU facilities to do it.

no.

He didn't cheat. He committed no NCAA Violations.

The NCAA won't get involved but the FBI will. (that's right correct?)

This is far worse and everyone associated with this will probably lose their jobs.

Joe is the "powers that be."

Both. Joe either actively covered it up or chose to ignore it. Doesn't matter which, IMO.

I felt like the Penn State case was not an NCAA matter -- until I reread Article 2.4 of the NCAA Constitution this morning.

since my thread got whacked, ill leave this to get lost among other things...

Do y'all think PSU gets a bowl invite? It would be a shame to punish players who did nothing but isnt it ultimately the bowls choice who they invite? seems like some bowls may not want to associte themselves with Penn State

Yeah I feel for some of the loyal PSU people out there and of course the families of these victims. I can't imagine how much and how long it will take to get back on the right track for Penn State.
