I didn't see the Fowler interview. At least on camera, Phil says he's OK with the playing of #18.

The guys in front want the opportunity to put pressure on the leader while hes waiting to hit his 2nd shot. Get the guys behind them thinking about it and apply the pressure to him before he takes his 2nd shot.
It was just a miscommunication by the players and officials all with each other.
Im assuming the official thought it would be fine, considering Rickie and Phil let them tee off together and play up.

Rickie was right in saying that it took some of their ability to put pressure on Rory. It wasn't over at that point.

My take on the last hole...
Both Fowler and Mickelson had to eagle that hole to tie. Rory could play that hole 20 times in the daylight and not bogey. It actually played to their advantage to have Rory rushing and playing in the dark. Rory playing up with his second shot did not rush neither Rickie nor Phil's eagle attempts. Rickie was probably rushed on his birdie attempt, but he was out of the tournament at that point. Rory finished at -16, and Phil's -15 left any pressure that was left on Rory. Rickie's missed birdie did not affect the outcome.

Phil's point about them allowing the tee shot to make sure they get to finish the hole makes total sense. I missed the Golf Channel interview... anything pointed?

I don't think it effected the outcome either. Phil hit a great shot that would have put the pressure on, should it have gone in, regardless of where the final group hit their approach shots.

PGA Club Pros. It's there philosophy, "Forget what's right, we need the revenue."

Rory just said it was his idea to play 4-somes on the last hole, so he suggested it to the officials. Officials probably should not have been so quick to bend over backwards for him.

So what you're saying is, Rory will begin being hated like Tiger because of his dominance and demands?
