Agreed. That's why length off the tee is paramount. We can phase these old nerds out of golf if we just keep moving the tees back.

Moving the tees back makes all the players use their drivers. That's where you separate the men from the boys. The good golfers can hit the fairways with their driver.

I can get back there and do ok. I did it at Shell Landing. I mostly hit woods and hybrids better than 6-9 irons( not that is necessarily a good thing). Don't know how long that will be the case tho
