The rules just seem hokey. Why not just use the odds vegas has and see who wins given $1000 to spread amongst the odds.

If anything, a top 5 choice should only eliminate 1 other choice, not 2 or 3.

ETA: also the winner should be at least 5x a top 10 finish.

ETA2: unless this is addition so that the winner gets 60 pts( 10 + 20 + 30)

no. Winner is 30 points. top 5 is 20, top 10 is 10 points. The winner doesn't get points for winning, top 5 and top 10.

These are the rules. This is an effort to not make it so much about picking a winner but identifying the guys who will play well and contend.
