Teurlings Catholic won on a bunt that scored a runner from 2nd. 3-2 final
Barbe should win going away. Just too good for Byrd. Byrd must've improved tremendously through the year. When I saw them, they were far from a finalist. Hot team vs Talented team. Let see who wins in a 1 game championship.

Booth is on bump for Barbe. Byrd didn't leave Shreveport to get to get here. I was wondering what happened. Played Haughton, Captain Shreve, and Airline, all district opponents. Then beat 15 seed Acadiana in the semis. Truly a team of destiny type run.

Byrd tries the old 1-3 steal play and get hosed at the plate. Barbe is far too well coached for that to work.

Barbe lucky to be tied right now. Byrd keeps making this pticher work and Barbe is 3 up and 3 down each inning.

Central Catholic won their 5th title 8-7 over Oak Grove in the bottom of the 7th. We blew a 7-1 lead in the last 2 innings. Then loaded the bases in the bottom of the 7th with an infield single and 2 bunt singles. Won it with a single to left. Now we're 5-7 in title games.

They're really small this year. Young too. They return everyone next year. They just find a way to win.

In the last 20 years, Central Catholic won 5 titles, lost 3, and made it to the semis another 3 times. Strong baseball program down in Morgan City.

They're currently on a streak of 5 straight years of semis or better. Excellent young coach too. I'd put him up there with the best in the state, and he's not even 30 yet. The Sr's this year have won over 100 games in their 4 years. That in itself if damn impressive.
