Feds backhand is weaker than Ryan's

I disagree with this. Fed's backhand is good, just way way worse than his forehand, which is lethal.

Harrison's backhand isn't like James Blake bad,* but it's still something that he has to compensate for, and he isn't good enough in other areas to have a weak wing.

*My backhand is appreciably better than James Blake's and I'm a 32 year old 4.5 level player. I'm not kidding, btw. My backhand -- which, to be fair, is pretty damn good and definitely better than my forehand -- is unquestionably better than Blake's. How that guy ever got to #4 in the world with that backhand is beyond me. Y'all seen him live? You have to see it to believe it.

I agree he's solid at net and needs to get there a lot more

That's were Fed is vastly superior- probably has the best all court/transition game of all time.

Both Sampras (who, later in his career, came to the net all the time, but who, earlier in his career, played more of an all court game) and Federer move really really well. I think Sampras was faster than Federer on a run, but Federer had better footwork. In either event, I think that in today's game, you have to be able to move really well to pull off an all-court game or a purely attacking game.*

From what I've seen of Harrison, he moves well. But he doesn't move like either of these guys. This is a fair statement, yes?

*Nadal should come to the net five times more than he does. He can close in so quickly, and his volleys are some of the best on the tour.

I haven't seen James live in a few years, but when I did, his backhand stroke, while definitely the weakest of his two wings, was decent. No offense, but I have a feeling though that if Blake was playing other 4.5 or 5.0 playes like you, his backhand would suddenly appear appreciably better than yours. And similarly, I have no doubt that if you were playing 7.0 players instead of 4.0-5.0 players, you probably wouldn't feel as great about your backhand as you do. If I am wrong, then your NTRP, for whatever reason, has to be off...either that, or the rest of your game just really sucks for you to have a 7.0 stroke, but a 4.5 game.

Something about this Errani girl really annoys me. Maybe it's that dying cat noise she makes every time she hits the ball.

I think she's kind of sexy...maybe it's because stosur looks like a man in comparison.

If Stosur didn't try to rock up and bulldyke out so much, she would be pretty hot.

at Bobby's description of Blake's backhand. Yeah, I saw it in person. At Cincy 2007, when he made the finals there. JB is just a hard hitting head case. He went through racquet company after racquet company the last few years. They bent over backwards to make him a racquet with old school feel like whatever he used to play with, but he still kept using the old frames. He was down to three or something last year. Can you imagine decade old frames after restringing with Lux every match and how hard he hits it? Those things had to be warped.

Does anyone know what time the Fed-Djokovic match is tomorrow morning? I know the semifinals start at 7am eastern, but I am wondering which match is first.

Anyone know?

Times are TBD but they way they are listed, I think that match is first. Ferrer-Nadal is going to be a good one too.

Kvitova looks like she's either

A. Put on some poundage or
B. needs bigger clothes.

Looks like the Nadal match is first, followed by Federer v Djokovic

That's annoying. I'd rather sleep in and watch Nadal...I don't really care for Federer and like Djokovic even less.

Sharapova is playing really well.

Federer/Djokovic should be more competitive than Nadal slaughtering Ferrer.

For sure.

I was hoping the Fed match would be first so I could wake up early and watch it and just be an hour or two late for work. Now it looks like I'll be DVRing the whole thing.

Definitely agree...just more of a rooting interest for me with Nadal as opposed to fed-Djokovic.

Hard to believe Sharapova has never been to a French Final before. She just shite-housed that chick. I'm seriously impressed.

I've gotten to the point where I dislike Masha because of the screaming

This happened to me years ago. Women's tennis in general, really. You can't get away from it.

The girl she plays in the finals may actually be worse.

I'm pretty sure the numbers stop at 6.0.

(1) You didn't pay attention when you saw him play.
(2) His backhand is horrendous.
(3) My tennis career might have played out differently if I had a good serve. I move really well and I return serve well. But my serve isn't particularly good, and that is sort of a big part of the game.
(4) I stand by my statement that my backhand is better than James Blake's. I stand by that statement 100%.
