Read an article before the season that said to draft Lynch then deal him around week 8. The first 8 weeks he was supposed to have the most ridiculously easy schedule, then a very hard schedule the last 8 weeks.
Very interesting. I will look at that. I'm hoping that was against the run because I have Evans and I'm counting on him to produce big for the rest of the year.

I would add that most of the preseason expectations should be out the window by now. So many 1st-rounds stars are not living up to their potential (Brady, Moss, Peyton until this week, LT) that Lynch against the Ravens three weeks in a row may be better than some of the alternatives (ala Selvin Young, Laurence Maroney, e.g.).

Since it was a preseason thing, I think that may have had something to do with it

A trade for you guys to think about:

Lance Moore (NO - WR)
Jay Culter

for

Derek Anderson
Brandon Marshall (Den - WR)

My other QB is Jake Delhomme and I'm pretty stacked in WR.

So yeah, now on my team I have three Cowboys: Roy Williams, T.O., and Witten. Is that good or bad?

Violates one of my rules, which is never to have too many players from the same team. If the team has a bade week, your fantasy team will lose.

I would hate to part with Marshall, but you can't beat getting Cutler for Anderson. I had Anderson last year and he was great, but except for last night, he's been abysmal this year. Cutler is the cream of the crop this year, so I agree with your decision. I hope, though, that when you say you're stacked at WR, you mean that you have Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, and Plaxico as your remaining wide outs.

Today's news:

quote:

Williams traded

ESPNews reports the Dallas Cowboys have acquired WR Roy Williams and a 2009 seventh-round draft choice from the Detroit Lions for a 2009 first-round draft choice, a 2009 third-round draft choice and a 2009 sixth-round draft choice.

Kitna placed on IR

The Detroit Lions have announced they have placed QB Jon Kitna (back) on Injured Reserve, ending his 2008 season.

Alexander signed

Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Washington Redskins have signed free-agent RB Shaun Alexander (Seahawks) to a one-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed, but an earlier report stated the deal would be worth the veteran minimum.

In other news....

Jones suspended indefinitely

Chris Mortensen, of ESPN, reports Dallas Cowboys CB Adam Jones will be suspended indefinitely for his latest violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy. He will miss at least the next four games. After the four games, commissioner Roger Goodell will determine the length of the suspension. The suspension was issued because Jones was involved in an alcohol-related incident, which is a violation of his probation.

Hard to say. Do you get return yards/points? If so, Jackson for sure. If no, then Ward is pretty reliable and most rookies are not. Look at how you get points. That will make a difference.

Then what's your definition of "stacked"?

offering Forte/Wayne for Barber/Cal.Johnson...thoughts?

I'm actively looking to trade Forte and Barber would definitely be a top target.

Love Forte but I really feel like the rookie wall might not be far off. Selling high i guess. My questions about this deal would be getting rid of wayne but i want to see his interest level.

His rec. are Cal.Johnson, Bowe, Holmes, walter and Hester.

Let me know what you guys think.

I wouldn't do it. Barber is not much better than Forte (except maybe for the next two weeks while Jones is out), but Calvin is in a bad situation. Kitna is on IR. With Williams gone to Dallas, defenses won't have anything to do but crowd around Johnson. Wayne is in way better a situation in my opinion. How many catches did Calvin have while Orlovsky was running out of the endzone for a safety?

So I'm having issue's at QB. I started off witg Jake delhomme and derek anderson. I dropped anderson, and picked up trent edwards. Well After looking at the schd's I'm thinking of dropping jake and picked up matt schaub. He seems to be turning it around, and putting up huge points in my league. Do you all think that would be a good idea? or should I just keep who I have.
Thanks

Well, a couple of things. First, Trent Edwards is a decent #2 QB, but not a fantasy starter. The Bills just haven't been putting up a ton of points in the post-Kelly years. As for Delhomme, sadly, I don't see him improving much reagardless of match ups. Match ups are really more for choosing running backs and defenses anyway, as a good QB will always find one open guy. I'm not dogging Delhomme, but I'd put him in the #2 QB slot for 2008. Having said that, Schaub's team does seem to be shaking off that rust. Don't know if the Texans are a flash in the pan (as my dad used to say), but if you believe, then that might be an option for you. I just looked at the stats, and I think Schaub is a better option. May give you a couple of down days, but the upside sure seems higher with him than with Delhomme. Oh, by the way, Delhomme has better stats than Trent. Are you sure Delhomme's the one you want to get rid of?
