Ok, Billy Walters. Explain to us minions the real reason for the line move.

It wasn't because of the weather.

0-3 on the day, I was like a 60-65% college bettor this year but I'm struggling early in these bowl games.

I lost my 'roll in like week 4 of the season (didn't practice sound bankroll management ), but needless to say I wasn't doing well. I'm off to a 4-1 start for bowl season, but I advise no one to tail me. If anything, fade me.

That being said, I've locked in Western Mich -4 (-120) for tomorrow's early afternoon game.

it could be that the public has just gotten smarter?

I mean there are a frick ton of bowls and even the casual bettor has to get one right.

Could be, but posting "No" provides nothing. Especially when the poster has no more knowledge than anyone else.

1-1 today and 8-2 so far this bowl season.

NIU -10 L
BGSU/GSU O64.5 W

Tomorrow I'm only on MTSU/WMU O63.5. Two good offenses, two bad defenses.

no one knows why they got steamed man. Its just one of those things. If any of us knew why, we would be ahead of the steam and not chasing it

Give us the breakdown on what side the public was on then.

Pretty much my point. No one really knows. $$ move the line... not betting percentages. Considering the line was over 7 for two weeks, and all of a sudden dropped 3 points on gameday... chances are that the weather was at least partly a factor.

BG was clearly the public side all week, the weather didn't change that. Some big money movers hit Ga Southern late and it's as simple as that. Most of the public tickets remained on BG even as the line was dropping, as a matter of fact the late public tickets were the only thing that kept the books liability down at all.

On WMU -4 and the over for the 12 o'clock game. Probably not a bad idea to fade me at this point.

I wonder why they would do such a thing.

And what's your professional insight as to why the total went from 66 to 63 on the day of the game without moving for two weeks?

Limits go up as you get closer to gameday, so many professionals wait until then so they can get as much money down as possible. This is why line movement on gameday is the biggest indicator of where professional money is & generally the only time you'll see true professional steam, not throughout the week.

sometimes they move early in the week. It doesn't mean they'd win, but lines do move. I can give you some example of this bowl season where steam moved before the game date.

But that's with football. On basketball, it usually moves on same day.

This.

Plus a steam move doesnt last 10-12 hours, and it usually doesn't move in unison with the total.

This is like someone asking, "Why did Apple stock jump 17 points today?", and people replying... "Big money movers". Great insight.
