I got Tennessee +28.5. I know Oregon will score 50+, but Tennessee isn't 4TDs worse. They'll at least get a garbage score or two to cover.

I also took aTm +7.5.

If you don't think there is a valid argument for an SEC team with one of the best o lines in the country catching 4 touchdowns, I'm not sure what to tell you.

UT's win of WKU is bit of fools-gold... vols aren't as good as they showed Saturday.

One thing that should make people taking UT feel confident was their 2nd half performance... with the game still somewhat in question, Whorley looked a whole lot better and the running game was much more effective... will that carry over to Saturday is the question.

On the flip side, their offense was garbage in the 1st half against WKU... Whorley was 2 of 6 and the running game struggled... If they have a repeat 1st half performance in Eugene, it will get ugly quickly.

UT isn't a come from behind type team... if they get behind early and the momentum gets turned UO's way... they cover easily, IMO.

Didn't think you could wait and get TAMU up around 9 or so?

Someone give me some insight on Vandy +13.5 against South Carolina. This seems like it's always been a close game the past 5-6 years between these two no?

Sorry, just meant the game spread. Take the -14.

IMO, that's a lot of points. Vandy will basically have two weeks to prep (or more if you consider they played Ole Miss on a Thurs), while USCe went on the road last week and got pretty beat up.

I think Vandy is an overall better team than they showed against Ole Miss, especially defensively... and their new QB (Carta-Samuels) will be improved in his 2nd SEC Game.

i guess it comes down to how motivated USCe will be after last weekend... if sluggish, VU has a very good shot at going in there and winning outright.

I'd probably play Vandy to 14 just to be sure.

Vandy is a solid team and should be able to score on USCe.

USCe has looked better than expected running it with Mike Davis (9.4 YPC or something silly like that), so that is a bit of a concern if they get a lead. A lead with Clowney and a good, home-run hitting RB could spell trouble for Vandy.

Clearly I said I don't know if there is a valid argument. Hence the reason why I asked someone on the Tennessee side to give their reasoning.

I don't care if they are in the SEC, that means nothing - they were also in the SEC in 2010 when they went up there and lost by 5 TDs. I realize that Tennessee has a good OL this season, but Oregon also has a pretty good defense - so no I don't see Tennessee just catching 4 touchdowns in a game at Oregon.

Also, how is Tennessee going to prevent Oregon from scoring 50? Or do you think the score is going to be 52-28?

Looks pretty safe, IMO... I guess Oregon simply bc of the sheer amount of points

I stated it earlier, but IMO Vandy has a legit shot at winning outright this weekend... They're defense is better than they showed in week one, and the QB play will be improved.

Tennessee will not stay within 40 points of Oregon.

This.

I think UT can cover if they can manage to keep it close for the first half via the power run game, but if it gets 21-0 Ducks in the 1st quarter, shite's over IMO.

UT can cover, sure. But I've never bet against Oregon in this era and I don't have any interest in doing so unless the team going in has a proven powerhouse defense (ala Stanford last year).

This is what I am thinking here. Oregon just scores too many damn points. I don't see Tennessee being able to stop Oregon from scoring, unless they can somehow just hold on to the football a lot - although that still doesn't work since Oregon usually scores in less than 2 minutes.

Tennessee's defense is no slouch. Two first team All-SEC'ers in their front 7. They have a lot of upper class men down in the trenches.

That team gave up on Dooley last year. Jones has them more energized and wanting to play.

By all means, if you think it's the lock of the century, throw down your bank roll. I just don't see it being as easy it seems.

This is a legit argument and point.

Why do you feel the need to make a douchey sarcastic comment at the end of your point? We're debating football here, there's really no need to get your panties in a wad.

No, I thought it had come down some, but maybe I'm wrong. It was a small-money impulse. I really don't want too much a part of aTm this year.
