Yeah I bet it. Here is some more of my luck that just happened:
1. THAT'S the kinda shite I feel like's been happening way too often to me lately.
2. You sound like me bitching to PokerChamps via email.

thats about as bad as it gets.. I was playing 3 tournaments at once on Full tilt and I had AA 3 bet it pre flop 2 callers flop comes A103 I get it all in vs AK and 1010... 10 on the turn.. (wish this would have happened in a cash game at the casino for bad beat jackpot) somehow I cashed in the other two though

That sux.
Yea.
Just the timing and the fact that it was probably my 2nd live tourney ever. Ah well. I still had a nice payday, so frick it, lol.

This happened to me last week, posted it in another thread:
quote:
I have about $400 playing $1-2 NL at a casino. I get KK in small blind, raise to $20, guy in mid position calls. Flop K-4-5, I bet $45, guy raises to $120, I push all in, he calls. I have set K over set 4. Turn 6, river a fricking 4. Just disgusting.
Posted on 7/9/09 at 3:33 am to LSUSUPERSTAR
yeah whack crap is nature of the game.. it happens every once in awhile and if you play good you wont get that bad of a suckout on someone else ever (not speaking about the set vs set suckout).. But it does make one feel better to complain about it.

Ouch!!!
My cash game beats come at the .05/.10 tables for like $5 pots, so i dont feel as bad now, lol.
i'm going to Vegas in September on the honeymoon, so I'm gonna venture away a couple of days for some 2/5 NL or something, and throw around some wedding gift money, lol.

Like I said, I try to stay up beat and believe that my "luck" will turn around at some point. I just hate being in such a dominate position (opponent has < 10% for outs) and getting shite on. I really enjoy playing cards though.

yeah i know the feeling ever since I won my big tournament which I only sucked out once in and had pot odds I have run like crap and feel as if I play better now than then.. hopefully when it turns around for you its at the moment you'd want it to be.. when I get lucky it seems to be in a .10 tourney or a freeroll.. not a big tourney.. But I love the game and will play it the rest of my life.

The best is when you're running dry in a cash game and guys are throwing around money and going all in with hands like middle pair or something
Then you pick up AA, raise, and everyone folds. Or better yet, you pick it up in the BB and they all fold around to you. That hurts almost as much as a bad beat sometimes, lol.

Since I'm in Dallas now, Windstar Casino is only ~1 hr away. It has 42 tables in its poker room, real nice. They have a 3 million dollar tourney coming up, but I don't think the wife would like me putting up $2k to enter it being that I'm not working right now.

The red river round up.. Ive always wanted to play in that, but didn't want to travel for just one tournament..

I also just saw that it starts on Aug 24th, which is when LSU starts back, which means I have to be in BR.
Posted on 7/9/09 at 3:51 am to LSUSUPERSTAR
Ah, well if you ever do plan on playing in it from what I hear you need to register pretty early because it fills up.
Posted on 7/9/09 at 3:53 am to PokerChamp21
They are running satellites until the week before, so I'm sure they have plenty of room. They have it at 400 plus alternates.

Damn this thread has grown since I went to bed last night!
I havent read every page but noticed a few pages back several people were discussing a td private tourney. We have done these many times in the past and they were always a blast. We would be playing the tourney and also have a thread going ragging each other. We even had non-poker playing members download stars just to watch and enjoy the fun. It was all great fun. Unfortunately, chicken thinks the people who organize the private tourney are scamming people, he believes this shite so much that he even banned me for questioning him for anchoring the thread (okay maybe i threatened an admin a time or two but thats neither here nor there)
Blanoix and I would post to promote so we could have a decent showing in the private tourney. There were times we would have 20 people playing. Just $10 for fun, nothing serious. For some reason or another, you know who thinks we were collaborating to scam people. Of course he never questioned us about any of this and just formulated his own little conspiracy theory in his head and nixed any promoting of a td tourney. Of course Blanoix nor I would ever try to scam people. Not to toot my own horn but both Blanoix and I make thousands of dollars playing online tourneys, why would we try to "scam" td members for $10? His logic makes no sense whatsoever.
So with all that said, I would love to get our weekly or bi-weekly td member tourney going again. If someone can convince chicken that its not a scam, maybe he will let someone post a thread promoting the tourney. (ex. thread title = TD Private tourney on pokerstars at 7:00)
And to those who were questioning Blanoixs strategy in the main. His basic strategy was to survive day 1. Day 1 was nothing but survival, if the opportunity presented itself to accumulate chips he would have done so, but he avoided any higher level plays. Day 2 was the day to move. Those saying he was playing to cash is not correct, had this been his strategy he probably wouldnt have gotten 30+bigblinds in with QQ. He hit his queen to double up against AA. He has played a few hands nitty no doubt but he is just avoiding marginal spots (the AK in the sb was a marginal spot given his stack and the cutoffs stack). There are so many bad players that once the avg stack gets to around 30bbs most players dont know how to play these stacks and push/fold properly. Blanoix's push/fold game is fantastic and this is where he will exploit people. Friday is day 3 and I expect him to start moving some chips and incorporating some higher level plays to take advantage of the money bubble. Run good 1 fricking time sir!

I was hooked when I saw Lisandro win his bracelet on tv in 07
quote:last stud tourney i was in i cam out 2nd. had K-10 in the hole. guy showing 44, hit my K and 10 showing (giving me 2 pair obviously) he's still coming all the way to 7th street with me (at this time i put him on three 4's). 7th street is a 10 giving me the full house. i'm raising and raising until i'm all in and boom, his river was a 4 giving him quads.
Just had a guy hit a river straight over my set of 4 in Stud H/L to put me out.

The following is a message from the man himself, Blanoix says:
I have been reading the thread the last couple of days and just want to thank you guys who have shown support and encouragement. You have no idea how much it means and keeps me up and energized through the day. I can't even explain how long and grueling the days are. The most mentally draining thing I have ever done. Hands down. Its also pretty physically draining also. After day 1 was over at 1:30 am (3:30am back home) I was fricking exhausted. Felt like I had went 10 rounds with Tyson. Also I just want to apologize for the way I have acted on here sometimes. I did come off as an a-hole/ cocky prick. Although I can be a bit cocky at times I am neither an a-hole or douche like some of you may think. I would do anything for anyone and a lot of guys on this board know me personally. They will vouch for me. So again, I'm sorry for being a dick and a-hole and getting off on the wrong foot. And to just get a couple of things straight I have read from the thread. 1. I am not playing to just cash. If I was playing to just cash I would not have spent $10,000 on a buy in. If $10,000 meant that much to me I wouldn't have spent it. 2. Someone said if I win I can buy a ring. That's already bought and paid for. With poker money3. I am not playing like a tight nit to just fold my way to a cash. The AK hand may have been slightly nitty but it was a marginal spot and I knew I could accumlate chips later. Also position on the hand sucked. I was the SB. Utg limper scared the shite out of me and the guy playing as tight as a virgin vagina made it 4x the bb. Just a shittuy spot. I have asked 3 top pros about the hand bc I wanted insight on it and they all agreed with me so I'm happy with my play. 4. My fiance does not work at sullivans/ has never worked at sullivans. 5. I didn't post this in my twitter but this was prob the hand of the tourney for me. We come back from break and I have about 42k. Blinds are 500/1000. Folds to me on the button and I open(Q9) to 2500. Cole south 3 bets me from the BB to 7500 as I figured he would. I flatted his raise in position. Flop was J 10 4. He c bet like I figured to 12000. I had planned on shoving any flop as I figured cole would prob 3 bet me with air. I thought for a min and shoved my remaining 35k into the middle. He insta mucked. Now yall think that is a tight/ nitty play?6. For those of you making comments who have never played a $50 tourney online much less a $10,000 live please shut your mouth about playing and being the armchair QB. If your so good and play so well put the $10k up next year. There are about 3 or 4 guys on this board who actually understand poker and for those of you trying to learn I highly recommend listening to them and there thoughts. To get better in poker you need to discuss hands with players better than you. That's what makes you better. I have made over $60,000 in the last 2 years and I'm not close to being a MTT beast. I have hands come up all the time that I am stuck on or question my play. Hoghunter, chowds, texastiger22, lasvegastiger are a couple of the 1st guys I ask for their thoughts. I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way but some of you who post on here about poker have no clue what the frick your talking about. I used to be one of you. I thought I was the best/ didn't need any help etc. Not until I started listening to players making hundreds of thousands of dollars did I start to improve my game/ make money. The player cole south I mentioned above is actually an online cash beast. He is a pro at an online training site. For those of you wanting to learn cash games I suggest www.cardrunners.com Those wanting to learn tourneys www.pokerxfactor.com Trust me guys. The best $$$$ you will ever spend. Anyway, I'm tired of typing. Thanks so much for the support guys. Just playing day by day. Its a game of survival. My chip stack is perfectly fine relative to blinds. People look at chip average too often. Just like hoghunter said, I think when stacks start to avg out I will have an advantage over more of the field than now. Don't get me wrong. A lot of good players still in who will be doing the same thing. The donkeys will continue to blind down and give there chips away trying to cash. My eyes are more set on 8.8 million. Not 21,000. If anyone happens to be in vegas this weekend give me a shout. Hopefully I'm here all weekend and into next week! If I make day 4 I'm breaking out my maravich bobblehead. ( Maravichlsu is my online name). Hopefully we get some tv time. Some interesting info:Phil ivey is the baller of all ballers. This dude has this aura about him when he walks into a room. I played next to him for about 6 hours yesterday. He got a massage for 4 of the 6. Lol. For anyone counting at home that's. $480 massage. Pretty much nothing to him. Watched him win 900,000 at bellagio 3 nights ago throwing dice. A day in the life of phil ivey. Check out www.pokerroad.com. There is a section called life of ivey. Pretty cool videos. Check it out. You guys can follow me atwww.twitter.com/maravichlsu Also trying to blog when I get a chanceMaravichlsu.blogspot.com Didn't check spelling or grammar so please disregard.
