I remember the first time I played a limit cash game. It was on Party on a 1-2 table and I got up to around 200 after about an hour...and lost almost all of it quick

Yeah its pretty much a mad house.. I even tried to play limit cash games heads up on full tilt and was doing good for awhile and would just run into people who would call you all the way down with bottom pair, ace high.. and hit or you'd be bluffing. and they would raise every time on the button and never fold until the turn or river and thats if they had 8 high or something.

yeah, I would find it funny to set him off, but Im sure if he kept calling me idiot id get tired of it too.

I played with Phil in a 2k half in half a few years back and he pulled the same shite with this Asian woman who beat his kings in the limit round with AQ. He jumped up and flipped his chair and made a huge fricking scene. It was ridiculous.

He definitely makes for good entertainment on TV, but the schtick is tired and old.
At least come up with a new word instead of throwing out idiot over and over every time you lose a hand, lol.

Its hard to complain about anything playing limit with what ive seen from playing 4-8 and online esp. vs an Asian woman.. I think it hurts his results getting all pissed I don't know if he was like that when he started playing or not but I'm guessing not.

There's no chance he was blowing up like that in the late 80s early 90s. I'm guessing he would have got a few beat downs, lol.
And I truly think he is just putting on a show, so I dont know that it would adversely affect his play all that much.

maybe he wants people to think he is on tilt.. but his results have tailed off since the 80s-90s, but that probably has to do more with the bigger fields and his change of style.

He is a lot better player than you see on camera. A lot of people think they can go in and just push him around and let him do his piss rant since they see that on TV but they only show that cause he is going nuts. I've played with him a few times and everytime he's made good reads for the most part and played back at people he thought was trying to run him over. solid style and turns agression on and off as good as anyone i've ever played with. Only other player i've seen do it better with mixing up agression is J Juanda

glad you told me that because I was going to try to run over him if i ever played with him based on what tv has shown me..

He seems to be a pretty nice guy off camera. I've never gone up to him and asked for a picture or autograph but i've never seen him turn anyone down. something just get's into him at the table that makes him lose his mind
