I will be honest, I don't watch that much sports commentary on the NBA, but the majority of what I have seen lately has been how Lebron would be considered a choke artist if the Cavs don't win it all this year. I'm sure I've just missed them saying the same about Kobe.
I think it's just because LeBron is more talked about in general. LeBron gets more love from the media, outside of former players, than Kobe, so I think it's just because he's being talked about more than the playoffs itself.
ETA: But people shouldn't think it's a double standard if LeBron gets more scrutiny than Kobe. Hell, most people on this board think LeBron is the best in the league now, so shouldn't the best player be able to win it all with a pretty damn good cast? With the love and admiration comes the scrutiny as well.

Agreed, but LA was in the Finals last year, so that's the only reason I expected more from them. I guess Cleveland has been to the ECF the last two seasons

They just haven't been talked about for whatever reason. Idk if that's because everyone just assumes they're winning it, or if they are just that wrapped up in Bron.

Finals in 07, Semis in 08 (lost to Celtics who played Detroit I believe)

For some reason I was thinking it was Cavs/Celtics in the Finals last year. You're probably right
Still looking forward to some great basketball over the next month

If the Lakers keep play like they did in the second half of game 1 and so far in the second half of game two, they will lose in Utah.

Utah is creeping back, only down 6...
If they can pull the upset here, everything changes.

Not a surprise, I expect this out of the Lakers every game. It's like "oh we have a 20 point lead", then they give up a basket and it's like they think "no big deal still a huge lead". Next thing you know it down to single digits. Happens almost every game.

jesus!!!that turn around by Kobe is just unfair. Perfect defense by Brewer.

Changes from a possible sweep to a worst case scenario of 4-2 LAL
This series is over barring injury.

that's a little over confident, man. the last thing phil and the lakers want is to go to SLC at 1-1.

I'm just going by the two teams. The Lakers have the superior starting five, bench, and coach. The Lakers are better offensively and defensively. The Lakers have more playoff experience, star power, and have owned Utah in the playoffs recently. I mean crazier shite has happened, but the Lakers are just THAT much better.
The point seems moot now anyways.

yeah, this series is over and it's not silly at all to say so.

Deron Williams is un fricking believable
Posted on 4/22/09 at 12:05 am to mattz1122
of course they, but they don't win games like this...the Lakers do.
Williams can carry a team like a mofo, but it's too much against him in the Lakers.

Well as I posted that LA scored off of a turnover
It's wishful thinking. I do think Utah will take one at home.

If the Lakers play D like this and keep taking stupid shots, Utah will take 2 at home. They are a totally different team at home. Especially if Okur and Harpting play.
