I wonder what changed with the Red Sox since last year they didn't give up Moncada for Sale and the reports were that is who the White Sox wanted. I think the Red Sox won this trade and are clearly the favorites in the AL.

Nats really need Eaton. Awesome team friendly deal also. Keep the line open Rizzo.

If the Astros can get in on the Quintana sweepstakes then that would be huge

Do the red sox cut Sandoval loose now and sign Valbuena on the cheap?

If Quintana is available the Rangers will likely be in the running.

They're also reportedly speaking with Cincy for a Straily, Hamilton deal, but talks aren't super serious yet according to Rosenthal.

Two other guys Texas is looking at tradiing for is Soler and Sczur.

Moreland is likely going to Cleveland or Boston.

EDIT: Just saw on Twitter from Bruce Levine that Boston will pay the entire $31.2 mil left on Moncada's original $63 mil deal.

So that was probably the icing on the cake lol.

I don't personally know, I essentially put word for word what Levine tweeted.

Moncada received a $31.5 million dollar signing bonus. The Red Sox had to pay a 100% luxury tax on that entire amount. The trade sent Moncada to the WS, but the Red Sox are still on the hook for the luxury tax.

On paper, this trade looks fantastic. But to me, it seems like a reverse home mortgage. Sure, it might get them a few extra nights dancing on the Lido deck of the Enchantment of the Seas... but one little miss-step and they're spending the next 8 years trying to recover from a broken hip.

Kenny and Hahn are the worst. Reinsdorf needs a swift kick in the arse.

What's the problem here? A bottom 3 farm system just added a top 5 hitter & a top 5 arm talent
