We won't be. Trust, I want this done in four, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we won The Cup in front of the home fans.
Ironsides deserves some measure of comfort as a true blue Rangers fan, so if NY takes a game at home I'll actually feel good for him and all my other NYC peeps; because I know in my heart of hearts this season's Stanley Cup Champions are the LA Kings.

The crazy thing is the Rangers have actually outplayed the Kings, just haven't gotten the breaks the Kings have. What's even crazier is that the Rangers are probably the worst of the 4 teams the Kings have played in the postseason. I think it'll go 5 or 6.

I think it's fair to say that they have for stretches, but if you're honest, the Kings are a better hockey club. If you can have a bad game or a bad series and still find a way to win every night, you're pretty damned good.

I think the Kings are the better team but the Rangers have outplayed them

Only if you're a Ranger fan. Two out of the three games went to OT.
And it's 3-0. This series is all but over. We're looking at a sweep... I don't see how anyone can call that anything but a dud. I just wanted a long, competitive series (MORE HOCKEY!). That's not likely to happen.

Love your confidence
I am extremely disappointed in Rick Nash. The Rangers are definately not getting what they paid for. I'm hoping against hope that somehow he wakes the frick up. Rest of the team is okay, but Kevin Klein has got to go. An NHL defenseman on a Stanley Cup final team has got to know when people are skating in and out of the slot.
Whatever happens, it's been a great run. You can rag on the Rangers all you want, but I never thought the team would make it this far in the beginning of the year. I believe that tonight they find a way to win. I feel like a couple of things happened in Game 3:
- Nash had a terrible dump in attempt with 6 seconds left in the first period that led to the goal that was scored with 0.5 seconds on the clock. You cannot do that against a team with a hard forecheck like the Kings. That broke the entire team.
- Quick made an unbelievable stop against Zucarrello.
- Kreider f'd up on another breakaway.
You can't say the Rangers were the better team in any of the first three games, but you can say that they could have won any three of them (even game 3, if those three plays go the other way it goes to OT and who knows what happens then).
Even if they lose, the future looks pretty good. Just looking at CapGeek, I think they re-sign brassard, Zuke, and Kreider. Maybe re-sign Boyle, Pouliot, Moore, and Carcillo. I think out of those four, Boyle probably takes a look around to see what's out there. He's good on faceoffs (so why isn't he taking more in the stanley cup finals? I digress), but otherwise a slow skater that is average on offense or defense. Pouliot has had a career year, but I don't think he ever replicates it. Moore....who knows. Carcillo won't be very expensive.
On defense you re-sign Moore and Stralman, probably trade Klein's $3M arse somewhere for a skate sharpener and some pixie sticks.
I don't think you buy out Richards, dude bounced back this year.
Question is, can we get Mark Messier signed by noon today and get him on the ice for one practice before warmups tonight?

I've got a lot of respect for the Rangers. Just getting to the Finals is huge, all the other teams are sitting around watching while LA and NY battle.
I hope Henrik gets his turn to hoist The Cup someday, just not this season.

Hey, I've been reluctantly on the Rangers bandwagon all postseason. I tabbed them to win the East and if you back to the FenClose predictions, they were second best team in the East. As I said, we were one Bruins upset away from a wide open tournament in the East.
I like a lot about this team, especially King Henrik. But I think Stralman has priced his way out of NY. There are no blueliners on the market really, and he's going to get wildly overpaid.

Maybe you're right. He will definately cost a lot for a guy most fans will never notice on the ice (no big hits, no scoring, just a solid possesion guy).
At any rate, I reserve the right to be selectively ignorant of history for one day and recall the time they had lost three straight to the Penguins and came back to win the series and hope this goes at least 6.....maybe 7.
Hopefully Nash drinks like a red bull or something before the game.
I used to be a Hartford Whalers fan before they moved and then split my allegiance between NY and Carolina. Over time, I gradually shifted towards NY and Henrik has been a gigantic part of it. Nobody wants to win more than that guy. He's the only one that consistently gets really pissed off after losses.
General locker room interview after a loss:
- Richards: always professional, not emotional.
- McDonaugh: excuses, excuses, I suck. sorry.
- Nash: Bro, I am sooooooooooooo high right now.
- Stepan: We're young, we'll get them next time.
- Henrik: always professional, but you can tell he would sacrifice a goat and kill a few kittens in between periods if it meant he would have won.

I'm pretty confident the Rangers win this tonight. It's tough enough just to sweep a team and even more so when you really haven't outplayed them.

2-0. St. Louis scores.

Kings had the Rangers reeling there. Amazing that they didn't get a second goal .

Still hoping that the Kings will dominate the 3rd...
