If Penn State were to get in they would be ranked #4 and play Bama.

My score prediction would be in the area of 55-14.

Ohio St is the only team who has a shot to beat Bama.

I think they both would beat bama. Don't think penn state will get the opportunity though.

Why would anyone take this retarded bet? Everyone knows the playoff committee will make sure OSU is in because of name only. OSU is not deserving of the spot but the bias flawed system will make sure OSU is a lock and probably shut out a FAR better Penn St. team.

It is what it is.

1. Penn State has two loses versus Ohio States 1

2. Penn State lost to Pitt and got blown the hell out by Michigan.

3. Ohio State beat that same team that blew the doors off Penn State

4. Ohio State has wins over much better teams.

The separation is far too great for a head to head consideration to come into play.

I think OSU get in, but this is an odd way to prioritize. In all cases, head-to-head is #1 in any comparison. It may not be the only relevant thing, but you certainly can't dismiss it as irrelevant to the discussion like you just did

Yes, transitive property score margins are a much better determination of who the best team is than head-to-head results.

Solid argument, I'm sure this is what the committee is looking at to make this decision.

It is exactly what they are looking at. That much has been stated. It will only come down to head to head when almost all things are equal. Things aren't equal here.

Plus..if your goal is to get the best 4 teams in and not the 4 most deserving...then it's tOSU hands down. shite, id argue Michigan over Penn State too. You put the 4 most deserving in and Bama will roll through that playoff like they are playing Sunbelt teams.

Penn State won the conference and beat OSU head to head. That should absolutely mean more than losing to Pitt (who also beat Clemson) and losing to Michigan (while they had a TON of injuries to their defense).

Your whole argument is essentially a transitive property/common opponent argument which is weaker and should be weaker than who won the title and who won when they played each other.

What do you think the score would be in a Bama vs Penn St game

It really doesn't matter and that's NOT how the committee should decide this. It's about who deserves it, not who would be a better matchup.

I agree. You can't have a Silver Bullet defense with black helmets.

Then if you agree OSU gets in, how else do you prioritize it.

If Penn State beats Pitt or Michigan then they have the same record as OSU, won the conference, and beat them head to head...no doubt they get in over OSU at that point.

If you believe OSU gets in, but for different reasons then what I said, what are your reasons?

This is wrong...it's been clear stated over and over...the committees job is to get the best 4 teams in...not the 4 most deserving.

PSU and USC have looked better than Ohio state recently

If you want the 4 best teams, USC needs to be in

You do realize Penn State didn't take care of business twice right?

I hate tOSU. I have always liked Penn St and Michigan more personally. Just think that it's clearly Penn State in this case.
