Rose is going to be great for sure, he needs a little more mental steadiness but that will come with time.

Watching the Celtics series ... i really disagree.

Then what about rondo? This series:

Rose:

ppg 19
apg 7
rpg 6
TO 5

Rondo:

ppg 23
apg 10
rpg 10
TO 1

Rondo,Rose,Williams,Parker, and Billups are all better. Sure Paul averages great #s but thats against shitty PGs. Whenever he plays against good PGs he gets OWNED!! Im being 100% serious....he is not that good and is WAY overrated. Great against most PGs but he cant play with the elite. Hes gonna give the Hornets good regular season records but never gonna do anything in the playoffs.

you really shouldn't post in or start any NBA threads. you write some of the stupidest shite i've ever seen every single time you attempt to discuss basketball. that is fricking ridiculous.

by the way brah, you still never supplied all of those scoring records kobe owns. doesn't he own "almost every scoring record for guards"?

I nominate you for the dumbest quote ever on this board. You r probably the only person on the planet that believes that. Which frankly, makes you an idiot. All of those point guards you mentioned have better supporting casts.

I wish that admin would revoke your account, just another idiot taking up space.

The only reason Paul isn't the consensus #1 PG is because of his size and the disadvantage it puts him when comparing him to Deron IMO

you people need to calm down after the calamity last night. paul is the consensus top point guard and has been since last season. his horrible team getting whipped shouldn't change that

CP3 is the best pg in the NBA BY FAR. He puts up great numbers in a shitty system. If he played in a faster offense, he would put up epic numbers

Did you read what I wrote? I said hes ALWAYS gonna have sick regular season #s because he is AMAZING against all but the very best. He just cant hang with the guys I listed....its simple.

LAWL. you are posting things that are factually incorrect once again. paul has had great games against everyone in the league this season other than utah, and he has actually had some very solid games against them as well. who do you consider these elite defensive PG's that paul just can't play against?

it certainly isn't Tony Parker, who CP3 usually has good games against

First off he had two games when he went off against the spurs in the playoffs last year, so that disproves your theory right there. Second off, of the point guards you mentioned the only one that outperforms him head to head is deron williams. As for this series, did you even watch the game last night? Paul can barely move because the entire defense is completely focused on him. Everywhere he goes he has guys double teaming him even when he is at the three point line. So you can take your pick: Would you rather deron williams who usually beats chris paul when they play each other or you can have chris paul who puts up better numbers consistently and leads a worse team to a better record.

the sad thing is that Williams led his team to an 8 seed, so its not like he's destroying everyone in the league either, even though he has a better team around him

Sounds like the Hornets need to get some help around Paul.....although I don't know if CP3 will ever develop that championship winning killer instinct that Jordan had, Kobe has, and Lebron seems to have.

You seem to have forgotten that the very same man that had 4 and 6 on Tuesday night had 32, 12, and 5 on Saturday night and willed the Hornets to a victory.

to the thread OP, I get what you're saying, but I disagree 100%

Paul has had some rough games against certain teams, not players.

Paul has always had trouble against Williams, true. Williams plays him very well because of his strength. What people are missing though is that what is stopping Paul are the other 4 Jazz players stopping the rest of the Hornets off the ball. Team defense and matchups kill the Hornets against the Jazz.

In this series, Billups and Jones are doing a great job 1-1 on Paul, but that's because there's no help. Denver is a matchup nightmare against the Hornets. Paul looks terrible because nobody else can do anything to help him. A point guard needs people to pass to, and he hasn't had that this series.

Certain players have trouble against certain teams. We may have trouble with the Jazz or Denver, but we tend to do well against Dallas or the Spurs. To say that Paul isn't an elite point guard because of certain matchups is laughable.
