Point being a few years ago no way in hell Big Mack isn’t wearing Aaron arse for a moustashe and going hard into him every play assuring the coaches of the decision to no let him finish.

I can't help but feel there is a better way to word this.

Or outcomes in the way today’s games with how it was played in the past....? Point being a few years ago no way in hell Big Mack isn’t wearing Aaron arse for a moustashe and going hard into him every play assuring the coaches of the decision to no let him finish. My god this game has really become unbearable.

Thank you .

Fans fell in love with this game because of the ' controlled violence' and not so Biff and his buddies can have their routine 300-400 yard passing games for their Fantasy teams.

And it's refreshing to see that this complaint about rules/ officiating crosses generations of fans. Not a ' get off my lawn' issue .....

We should remove all penalties protecting QBs. That way when they all get hurt and we have to watch back ups play people will realize how stupid they sound bitching about personal fouls. That would be great for the game!

Yeah because QBs from the 70s were injured all the time?

NFL is trying to preach the classic form tackle and penalizing defenders for using it against the QB

Form tackle doesn't involve driving the player into the ground and landing on him with your full body weight. If they talked him correctly it wouldn't be a penalty.

Agreed. Some of these guys who are playing into their 40s quiet frankly couldn’t last in 80s/90s.

Imagine if no one could hit Marino or Elway.

Ironically the more they move away from QB sacks, the less important pass rushing defensive ends will be. I truly think we are 5 to 10 years out from some sort of system where QBs aren't even hit anymore.

This was joked about in the 80's when the 'QB hook slide' and 'In the Grasp' rule were implemented. Are they football players and how many rules are necessary to protect them?

1)QB Hook slide
2) In the Grasp'( a good rule )
3) Basically a MLB type strike zone where you can hit them
4)They can intentionally ground the ball outside the pocket in fear of getting hit

5) now one must gently caress the QB and be careful not to fall on him after the tackle

It doesn't sound too absurd that they don't want QBs hit anymore .

Couple with the defenseless receiver rules and tick tack interference calls there is no way to compare eras statistically.

if you "face up" hit the QB and tackle him, you're going to land on him and that's now a penalty

Marcus Davenport tackled Fitzpatrick and didn't even land on top of him and still got called for a roughing the passer because he's big and scary

Where the hell else is the defender going to fall after driving through the ball carrier/ handler center mass?

A defender hustling full speed , maybe a bit off balance while being blocked is supposed to somehow gather himself & gently caress the QB to the ground and frickin spoon him?

only if you leave your feet or intentionally pick him up so your weight lands on him. It's obvious what's a penalty and what's not. If you played football you know that tackling someone properly doesn't look like a pile driver,
you drive through the player with your hips. You don't belly flop on the player.

Today’s NFL is a joke, as are QB stats. Might as well be 7 on 7 flag football.

Real stats right here
