played there 25 years ago. They probably haven’t updated the stadium since then

In the last five years they have replaced the turf, seats, scoreboard, sound system and renovated the field house and area around the stadium

No one told us how bad the carpet burns were going to be.

I did chuckle at this. That old turf was a bitch. Felt like sandpaper when you fell on it. Also had a nasty crown on the field that is thankfully gone now

The old turf in the Dome would creak and bounce in certain places. Felt like there was plywood underneath it. The old turf at Northwestern was the worst surface I've ever played on before. It had basically zero padding underneath too. It would take chunks of skin off your elbows/knees/shins. Felt like getting tackled on concrete.

My dad's company poured the original base for the Dome. I think it was asphalt, then a thin pad of some sort then the original astroturf. It was hard and abrasive I recall him saying.

The Dome felt like a mattress compared to Northwestern's turf in the 90's.

This is on Cantrell, not the LHSAA. She is beyond unreasonable.

That said, the LHSAA should be looking away from the Superdome anyway.

I disagree. I think the LHSAA should scream to every media outlet how much the Dome charges them. It’s absolutely ludicrous to charge that much for a public building. It should cost NOTHING for the games to be held there. Just cost of expenses.
