This absolutely sucks. I can understand giving the Day games to the NFL, but I’d rather watch a bowl game.

Redzone is going to be fire

The bowls don’t want to compete vs the NFL for ratings

I love nothing more than watching flags get thrown by on every play by a bunch of guys that don't even know the rules.

Except it's say worse in the NFL. I want to and try to watch it. 5 or so weeks ago I turned off three MNF games in a row it was so bad. I haven't been able to get into it since.

Ok, that's fine. I'm just sharing my opinion. I feel like I'm pretty level headed on the issue. Like I said, i want to watch, but the produce is just terrible imo. I hope it improves, but theres imperical evidence that people are watching less for a lot of different reasons so if I were a big fan I would try to advocate for the game not be a smug douchebag.

Congress did impose one condition on the professional football leagues. The SBA would not apply if any television contract allowed the NFL (or at the time, the AFL) to broadcast games “on any Friday after [6 p.m.] or on any Saturday during the period beginning on the second Friday in September and ending on the second Saturday in December.” In other words, the NFL could not televise games if they competed directly against college football. The NFL and AFL readily agreed to this restriction, as they already restricted their schedules to Sunday afternoons.

The SBA and the Friday-Saturday ban remain in effect today. In fact, Congress expanded the ban in 1966 to prevent the NFL from broadcasting games that might conflict with high school football. As a result, the NFL sought refuge on other, unprotected days of the week, starting with Monday night games in 1970 and Thursday nights starting in 2006.

For its part, college football now occupies almost every day of the calendar, including the occasional Sunday game, although the SEC and major conferences still play the bulk of their schedules on Saturday. The SBA only restricts the NFL, not college football, in determining what days to play and televise games on.

But CFB honors that day - Sunday, reserved for the NFL.

There are 3 decent bowl games tomorrow lunchtime - one of those could/should be played this evening after NFL wraps...
