quote:Gotcha. I don't think you were the only one who brought up the case.
i brought up the Travis Johnson case to point out the mindset of that District Attorney's office. i don't care about FSU.
After that case, FSU had to undergo an audit of their rape reporting procedures after it came out that multiple university officials did not report the rape allegation to the police. In fact, one university employee tried to broker a deal to keep the allegation completely secret.

The Winston family needs to know one thing, because I'm sure theyre feeling fairly secure at this point. But Jansen is first and foremost the lawyer for FSU. If this thing starts to stink for them Winston will be thrown under the bus with the quickness
And if there's other players involved, they need to know that everyone may throw them under the bus to protect Winston.

Matt Baker ?@MattHomeTeam 2m
Family of Jameis Winston accuser has released another statement. "DNA is not 5’9” to 5’11”, DNA is Jameis Winston"
Matt Baker ?@MattHomeTeam 3m
Family statement: "To be clear, the victim did not consent. This was a rape."
Matt Baker ?@MattHomeTeam 3m
Statement was released through the family's attorney, Patricia Carroll.
I must say...
If these are things we know (her position, the DNA)....why the need to keep releasing info?
Did they not feel comfortable about what was said to Meggs and what outside pressure to him?
I'm wonder if Jameis lawyer should start releasing info as well...
(I'm looking at it from a legal perspective)

Seems to be...
Just saying...
On one hand "we're not about pressing charges, proceeding with the case" *Remember the state will press charges whether she wants to or not*
And then the constant comments to CNN....AFTER meeting with Meggs.
Telling Meggs what happened is more important than any press release. We know what the deal is with the case.
What do the lawyers think? Does this help or hurt her case?

They're battling some sort of narrative that Winston's lawyer is advancing, which is showing up through DA questions of the accuser or through media channels. Just my guess.

"Her lawyer is her aunt. A bankruptcy attorney using the lime light to snag some business. In a credibility driven case like sexual assaults, you keep your mouth shut and keep it to one story.
As I've said from the beginning, Winston's side doesn't need to release any info. He's likely not going to be charged based on the info they have."
horseshite. If the girl said no and he forced sex that is rape. Why would she go to the cops/hospital at 4am if it was consensual sex. I mean it does not take a Rhodes Scholar to figure this out. The girl never wanted the sex, nor the attention she is being bombarded with now. Use your brain.

im not buying the "train" story. if that was the case, I don't know why Jameis would be at the center of the investigation and not one of the "unwanted".

I read it too and almost posted that from another website but I've decided to just stay away from rumors. I actually wanted to post last week when someone said that TPD requested a DNA swab from Winston and he voluntarily gave it up to them. Well that turned out to be true. Same guy is posting some pretty interesting stuff regarding Winston being cleared next week but I remain skeptical to all rumors.
There is no point in getting emotionally involved in this when we haven't heard Winston's side of the story. It seems like everything released can be looked at in two ways.

Well yea me too... and the authorities were the ones that gave the results of the DNA test. And that matched Winstons. If there was multiple DNA on the girls underwear it wouldnt of been an exact match.

then lock him up now. no need for a trial.
not sure why you said "if," when you are so damn certain.

?
A DNA analysis completed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on Tuesday confirmed that DNA provided by Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston matched the sample taken from the underwear of the woman who has accused him of sexual battery.
According to the DNA analysis report, a copy of which was viewed by ESPN.com on Wednesday, the Florida state crime lab determined the chance of the DNA in the woman's underwear being a match for someone other than Winston was one in 2.2 trillion.

Another Duke Lacrosse accuser, nothing to see here.

Hospital or police. Proper authorities.
All i was saying was that authorities were the 1 that did the DNA match. And the DNA matched Winston, and nobody else.
Thats all I was saying.

Jansen had all his ducks in a row in the event this would come out. He did have 11 months to prepare
1) Leaked that the height didnt match. Even volunteered a DNA swab - Oops, Match!
2) They had an ongoing relationship, heres a pic as proof - Oops, JW didnt remember who the girl was
3) The sex was consenual - Oops, backtracked when cornered by press
I think their overconfidence came from their 11 months of prep. Things may be unraveling though.
I think hes been trying to win it in the court of public opinion, because he may not have had the truth, or he now knows JW isnt totally clean
The victims lawyer is now playing the same game. Leaked BAC level, leaked DNA match, leaked FSU and TPD collusion
