Not “amazing”, just an observation by me that while the Cubs did have a good chance in this series, it would have come with Bryant and Rizzo contributing instead of just 2 HR and I think 3 hits combined and Arietta continuing to dominate.

I would have figured if that Bryant and Rizzo were held in check and STL got to Arrieta that Chicago would have been swept. Instead…

And you get a strike out, and you get a strike out, and you get a strike out.

Dude your team is kind of like the Yankees this year - they're getting older and you just don't have an up and coming team like you have in years past. I'm sure your amazing front office will address it - you don't have to act like a total pussy though and bail on your team.

Huh? Gritchuk, Pham, Wong, Piscotty, Martinez...are rookies now considered "old"?

I would have figured with the Cards really having 3 starting pitchers available and a hodgepodge lineup, the Cubs would win in 4.

I don't give a shite about the zone. If a pitch is close, fricking swing at it! I hate when people just watch strikes without swinging. A no swing guarantees a no hit. Guaranteed.

A swing gives you a chance.

frick that.

Look, literally the pitch before that exact pitch was a ball. Exact same pitch and location. You cant just swing at everything. You have to be able to have a reasonable chance that calls within a given AB will be consistent.

But you can swing at pitches which are very close to being strikes with success. My high school baseball coach would make players run after a game if they struck out without swinging.

frick that noise.

Yea I agree with the "anything close with 2 strikes" philosophy but he didn't take strike 3 he swung and miss, so either I disagree with Killz or he's confused
