NHL Trade Deadline Thread 2/28/11

Most exciting trade deadline of the year is tomorrow. Hoping the Caps can get a 2C and dman for a lengthy run in April/May/June. Hopin for Richards/Arnott.

I could give a shite about the rest of the league, McPhee better make some moves tomorrow. Hope to see Columbus make the playoffs though, makes the NHL playoffs that much better around here.

Caps trade a third rounder for D Dennis Wideman. Big cap hit, so I'm willing to bet that means Poti goes on the inactive list for the year. And then gets moved in the offseason.

Love the Wideman pick up. Poti most likely going to LTIR so cap hit not that much. Plus pushes Sloan down the depth chart. Caps have a puck moving dman on all 3 pairings now. Up next a 2C. Looking like Arnott coming to Washington.

FWIW a report just came out a few minutes ago of Richards saying hes still with Dallas and hasnt been presented with trade offers

Because the biggest problem for the Caps this year has been their power play. Put Ovie back where he's more effective: forward.

Jackets and Coyotes make a deal:
A big hockey fan I know says this is a great move for the Jackets. But I won't pretend to know enough to say if this is good or not.

Wouldn't say great. I'd say we won it, though. But it won't make a huge impact, or anything, in all likelyhood.

Richards is still a Star. On the bright side, the Rangers were able to trade for Johnny Mitchell for Adam Graves' old jockstrap allowing all the haters to rightfully laugh at the Rangers.
