Gonna try one of your methods. Normally, I avoid betting games / series involving VGK but I put $200 on the Habs to win the series at 4/1. If VGK win, fantastic. If not, I get a good bit of "drown my sorrows" $$.
VGK are INSANELY overpriced right now. You can get the Habs at +240 for Game 1.

Conspiracy theory? No it’s documented and no other team in expansion has ever gotten the breaks Vegas has. Go read about it yourself. They absolutely changed the rules for Vegas unlike any expansion before. Don’t be gullible Vegas was even allowed to trade picks to not pick certain guys.
Go read what Minnesota, Atlanta, Ottawa etc had to choose from compared to VGk.

Except you said the Golden Knights would have to change their name. You never mentioned anything about any settlement until after the fact. And despite the expansion draft, the Golden Knights were still expected to suck their inaugural year. You nor anyone else whined about them until they started winning.

Well, they WERE nice enough to issue an apology when they blew the call on Cody Eakin.
Now, you can (correctly) make the case that VGK shouldn't have lost the two games before that and if I were Gallant, I would have called a TO when SJ was rallying. (I can see not doing so after the first goal but he definitely should have after the second.) Nonetheless, I don't recall Gary getting on the hot line to Toronto and telling them how to overturn the Major Penalty call.
Let's also remember that even after the "gifted" expansion draft, no one had VGK even making the playoffs, much less reaching the Finals. Many teams used VGK's draft as an opportunity to dump bad contracts. I certainly don't recall Gary going to Chuck Fletcher at Minnesota and ordering him to practically hand us Alex Tuch so that VGK would pick Erik Haula instead of Matt Dumba. Hell, folks though that the Wild pulled a fast one on VGK at the time. This year's playoff series with them kinda showed otherwise but I digress.
Everyone points to Marc Andre Fleury as the main reason for VGK being "handed" a championship team...yet everyone forgets that Pittsburgh had demoted him to backup behind Matt Murray and were anxious to unload his $6 million cap hit. Fleury only started in the playoffs due to Murray being hurt. When Fleury had a horrible performance against Ottawa in Game 3 of the ECF, he got pulled for Murray and never saw the ice for Pittsburgh again. The facts just don't support the "gifted" narrative.
I have no illusions about this being an easy series. The Habs are playing well right now and will be an extremely tough out. I'll be stunned if this series goes less than 6 games. May the best team win and may it be a hard fought series, free of any major injuries.
