Tyler Seguin out 4-6 months so more than likely done for the season. Sucks to see as his second line with Marchment and Duchene was playing at an elite level, so now DeBoer is going to have to reorganize his lines, but that $9.85 mil LTIR can at least help at the trade deadline

Some recent trades.

quote:

Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman David Jiricek will get a fresh start with the Minnesota Wild, who acquired the 2022 sixth pick for 22-year-old defenseman Daemon Hunt and draft picks Saturday night.

The Wild sent Hunt, a first-round pick in the 2025 NHL entry draft (top five protected), a third-round pick in the 2026 NHL draft (previously acquired from Colorado), a fourth-round selection in the 2026 NHL entry (previously acquired from Toronto) and second-round pick in the 2027 NHL draft to the Blue Jackets. Columbus also sent a fifth-round selection in the 2025 NHL draft to the Wild along with Jiricek.

The Colorado Avalanche and the Nashville Predators swapped backup goaltenders in a trade Saturday morning. Scott Wedgewood was traded to Colorado, while Justus Annunen and a 2025 sixth-round pick were sent to Nashville.

Oof yeah that is bad

The Avalanche shut out the Devils last night, hell has frozen over

I really think being stickied at the bottom of the board has decreased this thread's traffic

I’m a creature of habit, so definitely has me confused.

Avalanche move Georgiev, Kovalenko, 2025 5th, and 2026 2nd to San Jose for Blackwood, Smith and 2027 5th. Avalanche also retain 14% of Georgiev’s salary.

Glad the Georgie experience is over, but sad to lose Kovalenko.

Funny enough, 29 years and 3 days ago the Avalanche traded Kovalenko’s father for this guy named Patrick Roy.

Thank God, the Georgiev days are over. This is the best day to be an Avs fan since the Cup win. He is easily the worst starting goalie in the league , he has a serious case of the eternal yips and I personally would volunteer to punch him in the face and then endure the ensuing beatdown just so I could put an exclamation point on his shite tastik Avs career. Seriously, frick that guy. And I will fight any ( small ) man, woman or child who disagrees.

Kovalenko is an acceptable loss.I was thinking we’d have to trade a top 6 forward, so I’m relieved ( even though he will be a top 6 guy in San Jose before long).

Thank you Joe Sakic/Chris McFarland. Our long national nightmare is over.

And damn if my Mets didn’t sign Juan Soto. I must be living right or something.

I think that may be taking it a bit far (not on the shite play and inconsistency of Georgiev, but the personal stuff). It’s not like it was lack of effort.

If there were a dude to talk about like that it would be Val for royally fricking the team when we needed him most in the postseason the past two years.

I hope Georgiev can figure out his yips. Dude undoubtedly has the talent to be good, but just can’t stay consistent and his cold moments are REALLY bad.

It’s also a testament to how bad the Avalanche have been at developing goalies within. Hopefully Nabokov fixes that, cause Blacky is probably a one year rental like Darcy was (assuming things go well, especially like they did then).

We’re health and an upgrade at 3C away from this being a very intriguing year again.
