Herbert was mediocre at best. The defense was all time great for about 5 years. Bobby threw almost as many picks as TDs in @5 years as a starter. He was very inefficient. I think he just threw another red zone INT just now.

I wish they would’ve dropped him during his holdout and picked up someone else, but I don’t know who that would’ve been. I know they picked up Steve Walsh, but that was in desperation. And it didn’t work out.

Even then, besides maybe 1988, I can’t see the Saints as a likely SB champion in any of those years with someone else at QB. I think the offense overall was limited.

Don't think they could have beaten the 91 Redskins though even if they had a better QB. 91 Redskins were just on another level. In watching the four falls of Buffalo 30 for 30, Don Beebe was just in awe of how good that 91 Redskins team was. Zero weaknesses.

That young buck that they just drafted out of Colorado will get them over the hump! Kordell Steward will go down as one of the greats, mark my words

Chiefs may have won a couple of Super Bowls in the 90’s with a decent QB….their defense was lights out with Derek Thomas, Neil Smith, and their secondary.

He needs a few years but I can see them using him all over the field in different positions for a bit.

I'd go with 1990 Saints, if you pick a Saints team. They actually beat the 49ers late in the regular season with Steve Walsh as the QB.
