The only time the Superdome has painted the endzones since they moved away from artificial turf was for the 49ers-Ravens Super Bowl.

Sorry, the current Saints end zones are way better than those black monstrosities they used to have
Don't be sorry, you're wrong. The Fleur-de-lis at the 50 is way better than the helmet doe.

Anyone remember in the early 80s when the super dome had one end zone painted for Tulane and the other end zone painted for the Saints? You also had a the Tulane T logo on the field.

The old Astroturf wasn't painted, that was all colored carpet cut to make the design. The Dome had both Tulane and Saints midfields and Endzone panels that could be switched out.

Then they had blank green panels that could be painted for Bayou Classic & Sugar Bowl. The panels would be taken outside and washed out after Bayou and then changed over to Sugar Bowl.

For the new turf, it's all about being able to remove all of that paint for a non Saints event and not leaving a ghosting effect by the end of the season. Also once Bayou Classic hits, that field gets quite busy. Its in use every weekend from November 16 through Sugar Bowl including a back to back NO Bowl and Saints game.

LA Coliseum goes from painted red for USC to painted blue for LA that night, if they can do it the others can to.

No excuse for NO KC GB Pitt MIA redskins Bears to not have painted end zones they are either the only occupants in the stadium or the college teams they share with have very similar colours

they kinda have a built-in excuse in that the team colors are green & gold

fairly certain that was the early 2000s when the Jaguars would put the Santa hat on the midfield logo during the Christmas season

IIRC Jerryworld has multiple turfs (including one only the Cowboys use).

I thought so but wasn't sure... we all know Tommy B ain't putting up the money for 2 sets of turf for 1 season when they already replace the turf every year

ETA: and paint is expensive

Only the Patriots and Seahawks have legit reasons bc of MLS shared stadiums (not even sure if NE still shares Stadium)

The Falcons also share a stadium with an MLS team.

The superdome’s turf looks awful on most TV broadcasts.. that’s my only gripe

The new turf looks better, though, compared to the shiny one we had before.
