This shite bothers me. I know people like him make a living doing this bc they are right more often than not, but just because the public bets one way doesn't make it the "wrong side".
A "sharp" makes a play, and loses, and it's chalked up to "Well we bet the correct side. The idiot squares just happen to get lucky".
Seems sort of elitist to think a play is "the right side" just because YOU picked it. Combine this with the fact that wiseguys bet lines, not teams....why do they make plays on numbers like +6.5 (vs -6.5) and -3.5 (vs +3.5) from time to time? Wouldn't that by definition, not be a sharp move?
It is what it is, and they are obviously exponentially better at this than I will ever be, but I don't understand their reasoning sometimes.
