If the saints do ever hit this point, think of it this way- imagine being the other 10-15 teams every year who eat shite without the excuse of going all in for a Super Bowl the previous decade
The Saints deserve a ton of credit for drafting well. The had a couple historic draft classes during their run. However, lucking into Drew Brees helped too.

I feel like Watson is about take a shite on us, him coming here and all the cap moves this morning make too much sense

Lucking into drew Brees is the reason they started down this path in the first place.
They figured out the hard part- QB- and decided to do whatever it took to maximize the rest of the roster while that happened. There’s no real downside to it, not a considerable one, and that’s how you want your teams to operate when they have an elite QB in their prime.
Again, that doesn’t mean that every financial decision or player they made was a good one. And yes part of what is necessary to keep this going is good drafting luck and a team worth betting on, but again the saints can simply hit the reset button for a season and start it all over if they ever do run short on that side of things.

Rams coming in clutch to continue to prove my point about cap space being a speed bump and not a roadblock

The #Browns have already told Baker Mayfield that they will not accommodate his trade request, per multiple reports. It's a stand off.
Was a fun 2 year run for the Browns
Now back to being a poverty franchise

Allen Robinson, Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods? Dayum.

Because of Baker?

Feels like diminishing returns or a poor allocation of resources a bit at some point
Curious if they’ll be open to moving Woods

Woods is coming off of a torn ACL. Robinson allows them not to rush Woods into a role he may not be ready for.

Shefty saying LA wants to bring OBJ back, too.

Reportedly still going after Odell as well. Woods will be ready by training camp.
Just wouldn’t be shocked

That makes a lot of sense given that old report that they thought about trading up for him in 2018 and trading Russ back then

Why do they need to reset if the salary cap isn’t an impediment?

Because you can choose when to have the reset. The reset is never really forced on you financially, because there’s always more cap magic out there to be had if your roster is worth it
But if you go into an offseason and see an aging roster without much hopes at competing due to poor “should we” moves, then why not take that chance to reset the books and make it a little easier to operate moving forward
Again, I’ll repeat myself, there is a cost. It’s just simply not a major one.
