This is the best nbadraft.net player comparison ever. I'm not sure it really counts, but whatever.

Boller was 50 yards on his knees.

Smith was 90 yards. Which came in very handy on 3rd and 89.

Freddy Adu is a great pick.

Most Olympic sports are usually pretty accurate about their phenoms (Phelps, Nathan Adrian, Dolan, Coughlin in swimming for example all became multiple gold medalists) but Mary Cain went from being the best American junior runner ever to being essentially a very good amateur in 5 years, which is insane.

Imagine if a top 3 recruit in basketball at 17 was playing only in those summer basketball leagues at 22. The closest I can come to that is Josh Selby or Renardo Sidney.

Aaron Pico. He almost made the Olympic freestyle wrestling team at 19. Freddie Roach once said he was one of the most naturally gifted boxers he's ever been around. Well he's 4-3 against some bums in Bellator and has been knocked out cold in his last two fights. He's only 22 so who knows.

Todd Van Poppel... now THAT is a name I haven’t heard in a long time.

Him being a demanding a-hole worked out well for Atlanta, who drafted some guy named Chipper at first overall instead of him.

Based on what I can find, the expectation by both the As and Van Poppel that he would be an immediate star meant he was signed to a MLB contract rather than a minor league one, meaning he didn’t get a chance to work out the kinks in his game before being rushed to the As.
