Newman’s Randy Livingston to return to coaching after judge's ruling

The Louisiana High School Athletics Association had suspended Livingston for a year, for allegedly violating rules on player recruiting. But Livingston said in a lawsuit filed Thursday he was denied due process, specifically a hearing on the allegations before a decision was made to suspend him.
An Orleans Parish Civil District Court judge on Friday issued a temporaray restraining order against the LHSAA, allowing Livington back on the basketball court until a court hearing Jan. 18. On that date, the LHSAA will be asked to explain why the temporary order should not continue.
The court order also put on hold the LHSAA's decision that Newman must forfeit three seasons worth of basketball wins and that barred Newman from the state playoffs this season. The Uptown New Orleans private school has won state championships in each of the past two seasons and could win a third in a row in the current season.

LHSAA doesn’t even follow its on rules. Selective enforcement. If they cared, they would beef up their staff and start really investigating. However it’s a principal run organization full of idiots, run by a guy with an agenda.

His agenda is to end or mitigate the split- the split those before him created.
Selective enforcement - he hasn’t let anyone off the hook in all corners or the state and all economic strata

If the poster went to Newman even more reason to be ok with sanctions. This whole thing is an embarrassment to the school. Parents and alums should be appalled that Newman has allowed this and should be demanding someone be held responsible. Coach, AD, and principal, every one of them should be held responsible. You can’t claim to be the academic powerhouse that they are when coaches are cheating for kids. You can’t claim to be an athletic powerhouse when you’re paying for kids to go there to fill your teams. Randy’s a recruiter, not a coach. This brings Newman’s rep down tenfold. And they should take a closer look at football and other sports too.
