You have said this multiple times and I'd say it's bullshite. What reason do you have to believe this?

I'm sorry Dollabill, I know I have been repeating myself. I have no solid proof to back this up, but I grew up around that crowd and if slavery was legalized today they'd be the first in line to buy themselves one.

They probably wont hire a black coach, but they will not pass up on a guy that they think can succeed because he is black. The crowd you grew up around isnt making the hire and probably wont have any input on who will be hired.

I hope you're right.
I will not say it any more. It only offends people.

Mike Leach answers some questions about the Tulane job opening. LINK
quote:

There’s been some movement in the coaching ranks. Reports are out that you are Tulane’s short list. Are the reports true about you visiting New Orleans in the near future?

quote:

Well, I don’t really discuss this job stuff. Long story short they got good people working at Tulane just like any university that has a job opening. I’m sure they have a sense of what they want, the type of person they are looking for, and what fits their goals and objectives. You know if I fit any of those things, great. If not, I’m sure they will find their guy

He did a pretty good job of not really saying if he was interested or not.

The last two lines tell me he has some interest, actually.

I guess, he did say similar things when asked about the Arizona job.

Sounded like "hey there are two schools jockying for me because I can fricking score on anyone, I think I will just wait this one out for the highest bidder. O and I Tulane is still very much in the picture"

the MAC list coaches have not even been interviewed. Leach and Rod have already had meetings with Tulane as well as about 2-3 others. They have to have back up plans just like any business would have. Leach and Rod are very interested, I understand some of you may not quite understand that but it does not change the fact that they have had meetings or interviews. Nobody should be surprised Leach is interested just because the cat is strange anyways. In this business money talks and that is all that matters so if tulane is spending big boy money now (rumors say up to 1.5-2 million) then Rod can easily forget the past and sign back on. He knows he can win CUSA with Tulane. Easy money.
