New BCS format not working out for Sugar Bowl?

For three years in a row, the Sugar Bowl will not have the SEC champion in it - and the SEC team will be playing a subpar opponent.
Under the old format, with fewer bowls the opponents would be better, and the 2007 NC would have been the Sugar Bowl itself.

The Sugar Bowl's problem is not having a second tie-in with a BCS conference

are you saying Utah is a subpar opponent? I think we need to go outside.

tie ins are stupid. get rid of them, IMO.

If your are talking about last season (2007 season, 2008 Sugar Bowl). The MNC would have the Rose Bowl. With no BCS, there would have been no push to move LSU up to number 2, Ohio State would have been #, they would have played USC, winner would have been MNC.
ETA, unless you mean the old format, before they added the extra game, in which case you would be correct, however, the SEC would not have had 2 teams in BCS Bowls the last 3 years.

but has had a VERY good SEC team there all 3 of those years. ND was considered a good team when we played them, They got last pick last year because of hosting the NCG game, and are low on the list this year because of hosting said NCG last year.

Utah is the best team to get there in three years and Bama the weakest (out of the three) so this may actually be an ok matchup. Bama will win ugly.

bullshite! You can't beat a team who represents the whitest state in america who has a black quarterback! Utah 38, Bama 35
