NFL games should be required to be on broadcast TV not some damn subscription service.
Required by who? The government?

It seems a little wrong for Netflix to replace a network that if needed most can use an antenna to view the games or is included in the most basic cable service. Regardless of usually watching games on local channels using cable instead of an antenna it is still the one sport that I associate mostly with over the air broadcast networks instead of a “cable” network especially for the regular Sunday afternoon games.

Unless Netflix is going to allow games to viewed without a subscription but with commercials Netflix taking from ESPN or Prime would make more sense, but those aren’t Sunday afternoon games that Netflix wants. I am guessing it’s Sunday afternoon or nothing for them.

Yeah

With the same law that keeps the NFL off of Fridays and Saturdays most of the season

Who remembers paying for TigerVision? Wayback then we used to pay to see LSU games. It was relatively speaking expensive then when considering inflation.

My issue with TigerVision was that you were paying 40 bucks back then for crappy games… I’d like to see the stats back then on just how many people bought those games…

NFL isnt short-sighted enough to put their Sunday games behind a pay wall

At one time, I would have faith Congress would strip the NFL of its antitrust exemption if this happened.

But not any more. Both sides of Congress wouldn’t lift a finger to prevent this.

In the 90a I remember it was mostly nonconference or noninteresting games. I would just listen on the radio to those games.

Streaming services are just becoming online cable services. It's turning into the exact same model of what people cut the cord and left behind.
You guys really thought the corporates were going to let you stiff them? They were/are coming for your money, one way or the other.

I remember reading an article a few years ago that said the streaming companies would eventually become major players in the NFL market and that appears to be coming to pass

We need to bring back the unencrypted satellite channels of the 80s.

Didn’t everyone’s older relatives have a big giant dish in the yard of their rural house?

Yep. OTA television is why they're the king.

Needing multiple subs to watch it will eventually have fans saying frick it

Call me a communist but I think sports should be available for public consumption on the open air waves.
