Well hell, take him to go compete…better yet, take him to training camps, then to go compete. It’s a nutty world, but a very tight knit and supportive one. They judge the boys very, very hard…but no one gives a shite if kickers are uncomfortable.

Last camp I took my sophomore son to they charted them on 6 kicks across the field from 48yds into the wind, then 6 kicks from 55 with the wind…all off the ground. Two days in a row. So fricking tough…but they’re all friends and it humbles even the best kids.

They compete each day after charting and you aren’t winning with a 60 yarder. Such a trip. We don’t talk to my son about the pressure, it’s just something that isn’t spoken about.

If your boy likes kicking footballs I wouldn’t hesitate for a second supporting that endeavor. Unreal amount of practice…and once you know how good everyone else is…once the curtain is pulled back, it’s like holy shite.

A complete waste of time. They are just better at promoting their bullshite than others.
