Alabama determined the excursion did not violate NCAA bylaws that prohibit student-athletes from receiving extra benefits due to their status or reputation as athletes.

I think the problem that Bama is having is that they're under increasing scrutiny. Normally, the NCAA and SEC has a rule that "Bama can do what the f&ck Bama wants to do", but the repeated problems are drawing unwanted attention.

Aren't they still on probation from the last incident (where they just had to forfeit some games back in '06/'07? That's what should be worrying to Bama.
