Doesn't mean a whole lot. Just thought some of you would enjoy.

Alabama officials met with NCAA about players’ fishing trip
The University of Alabama has not self-reported any NCAA violations related to a spring fishing excursion taken by football players Julio Jones and Mark Ingram, but at least one member of the Alabama compliance staff has flown to Indianapolis to discuss the situation with NCAA enforcement representatives, the Tuscaloosa News reports. Neither Jones nor Ingram have been declared ineligible to play this season, but Alabama is consulting with the SEC to determine whether the matter should be reported as a possible secondary violation. Alabama has investigated for the past few months a Gulf Coast fishing trip taken by Jones and Ingram with Curtis Anderson, who owns a condominium in Gulf Shores. Alabama's investigation determined Anderson is not an athletic booster. Student-athletes accepting benefits from a booster, defined as a representative of a school's athletic interests, would be considered a possible major institutional violation of NCAA rules. Alabama determined the excursion did not violate NCAA bylaws that prohibit student-athletes from receiving extra benefits due to their status or reputation as athletes.

I think the problem that Bama is having is that they're under increasing scrutiny. Normally, the NCAA and SEC has a rule that "Bama can do what the f&ck Bama wants to do", but the repeated problems are drawing unwanted attention.
Aren't they still on probation from the last incident (where they just had to forfeit some games back in '06/'07? That's what should be worrying to Bama.
