On a vet minimum deal. That's nowhere close to that $20 mil he was expecting

Denver has agreed to send Kenneth Faried, Darrell Arthur, a 2019 protected first-round pick and a future second round pick to Nets for Isaiah Whitehead, league sources tell ESPN. Salary dump for Denver.

Rick you need to step to the fore front and lead your guys. The collective lakers group. West coast ag don’t have no leadership skills. Reflects poorly on the whole fan base. He can learn a lot from BBB.

David Rickey is Chris Paul

Man I hope spurs can pull off this trade with Toronto. Much better deal than the other garbage options I’ve heard.

Denver has dumped 34 mil in salary this offseason, while only giving up a top 12 protected first. That's pretty impressive.

The Nets dumped Lin, in order to take in a salary dump from the Nuggets to land a pick. Pretty interesting

They've given up some 2nds and a lot of their depth. Wilson Chandler isn't a dump, that's losing a good wing on a potential playoff team.

He's gone downhill, they traded him for literally nothing because they needed to get rid of salary (i.e. a dump).

If there's one thing we've learned from the whole Kawhi deal, it's that his reservedness is almost certainly not an act. I don't think I've ever seen a pro sports athlete of his caliber who manages to be as unplugged socially. I truly believe he has little to no idea how this whole situation is playing out in the sports megasphere, choosing instead to rely completely on his uncle/team/whatever to handle his affairs. An infantile mindset (not uncommon among athletes) combined with a complete lack of social awareness.

Can't make too many excuses for him--he's a grown arse man and the buck ultimately stops with him and his wishes, but for someone whose "team" purports to want to build his "brand," Kawhi is the absolute wrong personality for that. They'll absolutely upend his career, whether he plays another game for SA or not. Shame to see a guy so preyed upon.

He's from Chicago, would be a good way to get fans into seats.

Would make a lot of sense for them.

So is Denver going to do anything with all this cap room they just gained the past few nights?

Think Denver’s main motivation was avoiding luxury tax.

Shams Charania ? @ShamsCharania The Houston Rockets have emerged as strong frontrunners to acquire Carmelo Anthony once he is free from Oklahoma City, league sources tell Yahoo. Anthony also has considered Miami

Ben DuBose ? @BenDuBose The dragging out of these Melo negotiations is getting ridiculous. With Brooklyn and Atlanta using their cap space, Chicago is pretty much the only realistic option left. Either OKC is willing to pay their price, or they aren't. Not sure why this needs to go on for weeks.

David Weiner ? @BimaThug Follow Follow @BimaThug More Replying to @BenDuBose I get why OKC might want to draw this out. They have until Aug. 31 to waive-and-stretch Melo. If they don't like CHI's asking price today, maybe it'll drop in 2-3 weeks. Perhaps Melo can force issue by reducing his buyout amount if it happens quickly. OKC may be counting on this.

Yep, they were way over the tax, which doesn't make sense for that team. Now, they are about 5 mil (I believe) below the tax. They also still have ~5mil left of their MLE, so they may opt to use that, but I think they also already have 15 players on their roster.
