I've debated on even going bigger, but this is already a lot of $$ and I don't want to price people out. It's easily the nicest stuff we'll be breaking. Gold standard has a rookie jersey auto in every brick and almost all on card along with tons of other on card autos. The baseball is complimentary to the hoops to give the bad hoops teams some shots at some ballin judge or bellinger cards. I have to keep that in mind. I'm not trying to run a dual break. This is ummm pretty outside the box thinking. I've not seen another break like this before anywhere, so I hope we get some nice stuff. I wanted the baseball to be newer product for fun. No baseball sales here folks I had to pay above market on eBay for the platinum cause everyone wants the stuff. All in all, I'm REALLY excited about the format. I wracked my brain trying to come up with something fresh and new.

ETA: there will be giveaways as always. I've got a few judge and bellinger platinum base in hand. A ton of Bregs. A Bregs die cut auto. A Swanson parallel RC. Plus the normal cool stuff.

Likely next weekend. The last few baseball hobby boxes have to come in. When I have everything in hand we will do it. I always give a day or two heads up in the OP for signups as well.

69. Not going to multi spot this one unless necessary as even the 3rd worst hoops will be paired with 3rd best baseball.

For entertainment's sake - I recommend alternating $$$ breaks with "quantity" breaks.

People could be pretty entertained with something like a case of 2017 Donruss football without getting into crazy money per slot.

And everybody will come away with a stack of cards, parallels and maybe a decent hit.

I'd just be cautious of giving less cards for more money - even if the chance of hitting a REAL home run is much higher.

JMHO YMMV WTF BBQ LOL

The first 2 breaks I did were more cards for less money.

The last break was a cheap as **** break by any standards.

This break is the first one we're opening product that has less cards for more money. And it's not about the home run, which of course would be spectacular. It's about hitting a bunch more singles and doubles. Not only that, I incorporated the "more cards/less money" angle into it by balancing out the basketball teams with baseball teams and hobby boxes and blaster boxes of new product from baseball, hoping for some base rookie cards at minimum of Judge/Bellinger/Swanson/Bregs/Moncada.

Do I want to open football? YES. But it is literally a waste of you people's money. Take Collegiate Immaculate as a great example. You can get Watson and Fournette RPAs for like $80-100. Those are the BIG HITS in that product that aren't 1/1s etc. There is no value there. If people clamor for a football case that much, I'll get a case and bust it. I'm not going to make the conscious decision though to throw money into the toilet.

I've been trying to bring something different to the table every time I break. No break has been similar. It took me awhile to figure out the idea for this break for example.

I take everyone's opinions into consideration such as yours and try my very best to cater to all at one point or another.

For reference, the break values went 48,47,25,69. The first break was almost 2.5 hours. That's a looong break. I flip through every card and name every player. You won't hear phrases like "the rest is base" on any of my break videos. I could easily open them in bunch and flip through until I see parallels, hits, or big names, but I am trying my best to simulate that feel of ripping a case of cards that the breakers who do this for a living don't do.

I have done a lot of research. I've opened a good chunk of product. I know card values on eBay because I'm always hunting. Trust me. I break stuff I am tempted to say "these guys can wait a week, I would love to open this right now" that taunt me for being in my house.

You do give me a good idea though. It would be nice to get a little survey out to see what people think etc. Everyone has been very kind and thankful in their e-mails, and I appreciate it. It's a huge chunk of what makes this still fun for me and allows me to WANT to put effort into it including giveaways etc. It's the driving force behind not just ordering the next case and opening it, but trying to do something cool. Everyone's got opinions though, and I'd like to hear them, preferably in a survey-esque version instead of pieces partsing people's written opinions in e-mail. Plus a survey would take way less time.

Let's get a case of ripping some "Quality over Quantity" under our belts first though so we have some actual comparison because we have not opened any product like Gold Standard hoops in such volume before. It's not like football, most of these cards are hard signed, whereas Panini releases GS football so early all of the rookie autos are stickers.

Im good for whatever. Ive bought some Platinum on Ebay and it was expensive as hell. Maybe not the best to pair with Gold Standard, but Im in.

I wouldnt mind a football break. Ive dabbled in multiple companies in the past month, and I agree, right now, there isnt anything great. My favorite is the Panini Contenders. Its cheap, but I like the way the cards look, and there are 2 autos per blaster box. Plus, I like using the base cards for autos. You're not going to get a $500 card from it, but Im fine with that for the price. I think my best pull is a Marcus Maye /99. The rest have been Rickey Seals Jones, Mitch Ledner, Chris Wormely, and other lesser known players.

Oh, I'm sure you know what's best. What I'm saying is that the "consumers" here may not be as well versed on the risk/reward. If you open some high end product, and some guy spends $75-100 and comes away with one card, he might he pissy about it and people might start losing interest.

That's all, I'm selfish. I want you to keep doing breaks, and I want to make sure people participate.

65-70 is about as high as you'll see me go right now. The odds of the next one being that high are about slim to none. Don't worry. Like I said I'll throw out a survey. If people badly need some football breakage in their life, I'll do it. The other part that might be worth noting is that if it goes into the season a little, you will be more likely to see on-card autos from the rookies. Contenders is not a terrible idea. It is one of the most valuable cheap football products as it's seen as the first autos by the draft classes. You guys better fricking really appreciate my arse if you make me sort Contender's though.

ETA: and yeah you're right Devils it is an odd pairing but I'm in a unique position here. By limiting to solo spots to spread the fun I try to limit the random.org bummage. It was the best solution I can think of and should make for a fun break. To be honest, if the baseball and hoops crowd were much different users id think it dumb but so many have done both that's what made me decide on it.

Lmao nice find. More impressive to me about that isn't that someone spent stupid money on stupid things. It's that some guy hit a Lavar card and said "I gotta get this bad boy graded".

Might as well admit it. Ball is a marketing genius. No matter what he says, people like us come here to talk about him and give him more exposure. No matter what he touchs, it turns into gold. He says his son will only play for Lakers or something. Lakers take him #2. He berates female ref at game. She gets tossed. His clothing line will probably take off once his son takes off. I don't see the Ball card having much value in 5 years, but he knows how to create headlines and people are captivated by him. But if his son balls out, his rookie patch autographs will go through the roof.

Yeah. I'm amazed what cards people will grade today. I wish I hadn't graded some of my cards. Unless they come back a 10 or 9.5 it isn't worth it. I'm much more cautious grading cards today. I only like grading vintage, high value, or cards I plan to move. I gotta give Leaf credit. They usually think outside the box to promote their products.

Brandon Ingram's cards are stupid expensive. Lonzo's are going to be way higher. People were spending $50-$500 for DIGITAL copies of Lonzo's cards. Regarding Lavar, I don't know if he got lucky or knew what he was doing. The female ref thing for instance gave people a reason to attack and go after him. That was dumb. If he was wary of his brand and as intelligent as you're implying, he should have known better. Ditto with his kid dropping the N bomb on WWE TV. I mean, you gotta tell your kids not to do anything stupid like that. The shine is wearing off. He pushed too hard too fast. His 15 minutes are getting close.

I remember buying Bowman Platinum blasters for $20 years ago. Pulled a Darvish rookie gold refractor autograph out of one. I still have it today. I hope he dominates in October.

I have no clue why the digital cards are so hot. If I can't ever get the cards in my hand I don't want them.

How is Ball's $500 shoes selling? Can you imagine the Leaf executive trying to negotiate an autograph contract when he asks for some crazy number?
