That's why I don't understand why everyone is raising the price by overbidding. NBA ratings aren't exactly through the roof.

You ever heard of 18-49 men?

The NBA is looking to double the $24 billion it generated from its previous media rights deal with Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery by adding new partners and charging more for rights,

The balls of Adam Silver lol.

Your viewership is in the toilet, not just in traditional OTA but in streaming as well. At this point they should really be asking Twitter and Instagram for pity bucks.

So better than Covid times but well below where they were precovid. Gotcha. 1% on 1 million is 10k people. That’s a rounding error.

CBS didn't let SEC football get to an open market until they were ready to dump it.

Umm, what? The SEC on CBS was easily the most sweetheart deal of any sports package for a very very long time. CBS made boatloads of cash off that original deal. CBS was beyond stupid in the next round of negotiations when it came time to pay the piper (IE renewal). They thought they could go cheap on the SEC for the next deal and now they are stuck with the Big Ten.

If ESPN and Warners are thinking that an open bid would come in LESS than they are offering then wooo boy. Get ready to watch Shaq and Chuck on Tuesday night basketball presented by Apple TV free for 2 months with the purchase of a new iphone.

This is over $30K per average viewer. I struggle to see how the math works out for the provider company.

I worry we’re going to see outrageously high streaming charges to watch these leagues long term.
