I see this thread is still being dominated by rockets talk

my point is you aren't going turnkey into 2014-15 like you allude
why are yall so confident in Canaan?

Parsons is a big loss obviously. He was replaced by a decent but inferior player.
Asik played in what, 48 games? He didn't play meaningful minutes until the playoffs.
Lin was our 6th man. He played well at times. Personally I was ready to move on from him but I agree replacing him isn't some given.
Caspi and Garcia had fallen out of the rotation after the trade deadline.
Agaim, this off season sucked. I'm not arguing that. But the biggest hit is who we could have gotten, not who we lost.

nothing else newsworthy has really happened in FA since the Parsons deal, if something had happened RTR would have edited the thread title to show the most recent development.

Well then we would be in agreement
but he's acting like losing Lin Garcia and Caspi means shite because they had a lot of minutes. Hell, Joel Anthony got starter minutes a few years back

He was promising when he played. No one is saying he is an all star but he can play. Fits the system perfectly.

it's a huge hit to lose players and not replace any. It's pretty twofold there

Not extremely confident, but he's not a big downgrade from Lin, if at all. He is not as strong on offense but at least he can stay in front of PGs with decent speed. He doesn't have much experience so we will have to see
Posted on 7/15/14 at 12:25 am to PortCityTiger24
he shot 35%. Had like 3 decent games from what i can see

I disagree, you guys have a bench resembling Portland's.
As in, nothing.

The biggest loss was replaced.
The rest, yeach I agree. I'd like to have Asik as a back up center. Lin was serviceable. The other two were non factors.

My team did too.
I don't think Morrow, McGary and Telfair is much of an improvement from Seflosha, Butler and Fisher.

But Canaan and Johnson are definitely no worse than Lin,
Woah, I get the hate for Lin but that simply isn't true.

I'm more confident in Daniels. Career 48% 3 pt shooter

It's not like we are going to roll into the season without making anymore moves.

Lin was great on offense at times, but he also was a huge liability against PGs with athleticism. I take Johnson and Canaan's defense. Not saying they are better, but not worse either, all things considered

I liked what I saw from Daniels. Does he do anything but shoot 3's? I was looking at his Dleague stats...he was shooting 12 pergame

Lin gets a lot of shite for his D but he really isn't bad. We have no idea how Johnson or Canaan can do either, so I'm not about to say they are better. Personally, I think Lin is more of a SG than a PG anyway.

The Rockets D-League team takes the 3s and layups/dunks thing to the extreme.

Went to Arizona, was Pac-12 player of the year and a 1st team All American last year.
