Houston got 2 years out of Asik and Lin and then got rid of both of them before their contract ended when people were saying no team would ever take on those contracts.
they are both expiring contracts.

Somehow the Thunder are always contenders
Getting 3 straight top 4 picks kind of makes that easier. The Rockets haven't had a top 10 pick under Morey.

Lin is horrible, but having to give up a 1st rounder to move him for cap space for Ariza is lukewarm
They didn't have to trade him to sign Ariza. Ariza was in the Asik trade. They got a $8.4 TPE from the Lin trade.

sure...but Boom acts like Morey brought MJ and Russell over.
Naw...he brought in a Wilkins and a soft Ewing

So the net was: Move Lin by giving up Asik.
Losing 1.5 high minute contributing players for Ariza. Lost Parsons as well.
Why do I feel you're praying for a hail mary.

Houston sent the Lakers two draft picks to take lin. Oh and only half his salary counts against their cap... roughly 8m cap number.
Quit defending these moves... they simply struck out this off season

You mean like when Houston paid him a ton of money?
No, I mean like when everyone made fun of paying him 15 mil for the last year of his deal. When he's dealt in that last year, all of a sudden you have tards such as yourself referencing him as some huge loss. That's all I meant.
And I will be the first to say Morey shite on himself this off season. I just can't stand stupidity on both sides.

I mean...most players don't win a ring. Nothing to be disappointed about. I personally think Durant is going to be one of those "great players that played in the wrong era"
The best chance of KD's career to win a championship will be the next 2 seasons. Gotta bring one home while Cleveland is finding their way. On paper, you gotta think they will get at least 1. But they HAVE to stay healthy, which has been a problem the past 2 seasons.

right, which is why it's funy that peeople were saying Houston was gonna screw themselves by using the poison pill.

Best Center and Best SG in the L. How they compare to historical players is irrelevant.

they traded Lin when they thought they were important enough to get Bosh....and that blew up in their face.

Uh huh
I (accurately) summed up Houston's off season, you are the one who projected the emphasis.

Yeah? And Melo is a top 2 scorer in the NBA and missed the playoffs in the worst Eastern Conference imaginable. Who gives a shite if they don't do a damn thing in the playoffs.

You better pray their 3pt shooting falls off, Diaw becomes a shell, you guys stay healthy, and/or someone knocks them out.
They can wipe a team on any given night the way they were playing after the Dallas series. Rather unfair to be honest.

a second rounder
has he struck out as of right now? yes, but why does that matter? the offseason isn't over. what matters is how good is the team when the playoffs start. what is hard to understand about that? why does it matter so much to you how the team looks right this minute?

The Rockets are no worse off if they would have just done nothing. Asik, Lin and Parsons weren't going to resign after this season. We weren't winning a championship with those 3 guys being 3 of our top 5-6 players.

They didn't get out of the first round this year and got worse in the off-season and you want to talk about playoffs?
Ok
Why do you keep circle jerking the gm when his amazing off season moves have netted exactly how many playoff series wins?
